The University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine Iaşi is a specialized institution of superior agronomic and veterinary medicine training, financed by the state and having as fundamental mission the training of agricultural, horticultural and animal husbandry engineers, agricultural economists, engineers in the food industry, biologists, as well as veterinary surgeons.

Our University is a severe academic partner, recognized by many European universities and institutions in the activity. We have 159 people as part of our teaching staff and research teams, who are teaching over 4200 students.

Our academic offer provides courses from domains of study of national and international applicability, high-quality training, scientific research performance, access to modern facilities and equipment, and also opportunities to participate in the study and practice European mobility programs, which all serve to build successful careers for all our students.

Our University has four faculties, each offering various specializations:

  • Faculty of Agriculture: Agriculture, Mountainous agriculture, Exploitation of machines and equipment for agriculture and food industry, Economic engineering in agriculture, Technology of Processing Agricultural Products, Consumer and environmental protection, Biology,
  • Faculty of Horticulture: Horticulture, Landscape architecture, Environmental engineering,
  • Faculty of Animal Husbandry Animal Husbandry, Fish farming and aquaculture, Engineering, and management in Food Service and Agri-tourism, Food control, and expertise.
  • Faculty of Veterinary Medicine: Veterinary Medicine (in both Romanian and English).

The teaching staff and the students from the 3rd and fourth academic years are involved in research activities within the grants financed by the Ministry of National Education, Ministry of Research and Technology, National Council of University Scientific Research, World Bank, state, and private sponsors. The research activities results are examined and applied within the Didactic station, which includes three farms, having a total arable surface of 509 ha. In these field research plots, the students carry on practical activities, having the opportunity to get accustomed to new technologies used in agriculture.
