A school not only provides a vital education for your child but creates social communities, fosters and enhances their interests and talents, and provides consistent, caring adult guidance. Education should build the foundations for a full and enriching life. It needs to prepare young people for a complex, information-rich, globalized world. Our school sets high academic and behavioral standards for our students within Christian care for their well-being and growth as individuals. All are welcome, regardless of religious backgrounds.
We are unique in that we are young and still growing and highly fortunate to be surrounded by open spaces and modern facilities. We have built our school from a masterplan that will reach fruition within the next ten years. We work in partnership with parents with open communication between school and home crucial. School can be a richly rewarding experience when staff and parents work together for the children's children's good in our care.
Lakes Grammar is an Independent Anglican School for boys and girls from Kindergarten through to Year 12. The school has two distinct spaces, Junior School (K to 6) and Senior School (7 to 12), providing our students with the tailored environments they need to grow and develop throughout their schooling years.
Our school is blessed to be set in a location surrounded by bushland and open space at the Central Coast's northern end. We seek to set each of our students on the path to lifelong learning and create an environment that is caring and nurturing as we believe education is about the "whole person." Each child is identified as being unique and different – each learning and inspired in different ways.
As a school with a young history of just over ten years, we are in the exciting position of creating and shaping the school'  school's history here and now. Opportunities to create cultures and set traditions are unfolding before us - a unique aspect within itself. Our school grew out of a commitment by the Anglican Diocese of Newcastle to provide a quality Christian education to the communities of the Central Coast. Established in 2004, the school has proliferated from a little over 150 in its first year to under 930 in 2015.
Future growth plans for the school will see us take our final shape within the next ten years with three classes for each year group from Kindy to Year 6 plus a Year 5/6 Opportunity Class and four classes in each year group from Year 7 12. Since the doors opened back in 2004, Mr. Michael Hannah has served as Principal ensuring continuity in programs and policies and stable leadership. Previously Mr. Hannah was Principal (Secondary) at Hunter Christian School in Newcastle for eight years, a teacher and Head of Department at St Paul'  sPaul's Grammar School Penrith for ten years, and a teacher for five years in government schools.
At Lakes Grammar, we understand and believe that education is about the whole person, so our vision emphasizes both the heart and the mind. Our Vision advocates applying what is learned to living our lives wisely and well, serving those in need, and honoring God in all our endeavors. The Vision Statement informs all that we do at Lakes Grammar. With compassionate hearts and inquiring minds, we strive to learn well, live wisely, serve others, and honor God.
The School Motto is drawn from the Gospel of Mark. Jesus is asked by someone, "What is the greatest commandment?" Jesus answered that the most important one is, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The motto urges all of us to be passionate about learning, live a full life, and help those in need. Our motto encourages action. It urges us to put our whole selves into our learning and living.
