    The Ohio State University at Mansfield has proudly served Northeast Ohio for more than 50 years as a regional campus of The Ohio State University. Ohio State Mansfield fulfills our land grant mission set forth by the Morrill Act in 1862 to provide open access to higher education for all Ohioans.
    Local citizens Avery Hand and James C. Gorman led a grassroots campaign to raise funding to purchase 640 acres of picturesque woodlands north of Mansfield. The campus has grown through the years to include high-tech classrooms, a cafeteria, cafe, student union, theatre facilities, a recreation complex, and a state-of-the-art Bromfield Library and Information Commons. North Central State College is a valued partner on campus.
    The Ohio State University at Mansfield is quickly becoming the college of choice for students throughout Northeast Ohio. Affordability, excellence in teaching, small class sizes, and opportunities for research and internships draw students.
    Students may complete one of ten bachelor's degrees offered at Ohio State Mansfield—Business, Child & Youth Studies, Criminology, Early Childhood Education, Middle Childhood Education, English, History, Psychology, Social Work or Sociology, or start at Mansfield and transition to the Columbus campus after a year or two. Master's degrees also are offered in Education.
    Most students are the small class sizes taught by award-winning faculty rather than graduate students that is the main draw. The entire faculty at Ohio State Mansfield has obtained terminal degrees 97 percent hold doctorate degrees. Many are conducting groundbreaking research in addition to teaching classes. Students often create their research projects with faculty mentors.
    An excellent student support system, from Admissions and Advising to the writing and math labs, gives students a jump start to college life. Tuition is just $7,644 full-time for two semesters. Low cost on- and off-campus student housing is available within walking distance of the campus. Local businesses actively support the Mansfield Campus Business and Industry Internship Program, which partners college students with real-world experience in the workplace.

    All courses and curricula offered on the Mansfield campus fully maintain the same content and standards as those offered in Columbus. Faculty are members of their OSU departments and meet departmental criteria for promotion and tenure. Nearly all hold the highest degree awarded by their profession. Faculty are expected to remain current in their professions by engaging in active scholarship.
    Regular, full-time faculty deliver two-thirds or more of the instruction. Excellent teaching is expected of all faculty. Class size is kept relatively small, averaging 24 students per class. Faculty assist students in learning both inside and outside of class. A highly professional support staff supports student learning in many diverse ways, including maintaining facilities, advising students, giving learning support, and providing administrative services.

Many students and families rely on student financial aid to help pay for the overall college cost.
    The Ohio State University at Mansfield annually awards scholarships to new and returning students. Awards are made on a competitive basis, based on financial need and other academic or co-curricular related qualifications. These are scholarships awarded through either the Mansfield or Columbus campuses rather than external entities. We encourage students also to look for scholarships through local organizations and businesses.

    Mansfield students in good academic standing may transition to the Columbus campus any time after completing 30 post-secondary semester hours. Some programs may have more rigorous enrollment criteria, so speak to your advisor and create your academic plan.
