With more than 100 years of tradition, South University provides a quality educational experience that prepares students to enter the workforce. The Career Services Office will assist students by offering a variety of seminars and individual assistance with developing skills to enhance graduate effectiveness with the job search process. Employer relationships developed by Career Services assist graduates with securing employment in their field of study. These relationships guide the Career Services Office in advising students about what employers are seeking in a candidate for employment within their organization or industry; they help us to improve and update curricula and to prepare graduates for the demands of today’s professions.
At South University, we do not want anything to get in the way of your professional growth. In addition to financial aid, we offer several scholarships to qualifying students. Campus leadership and scholarship committees on each of our campuses work with The Education Foundation to award scholarships. The Education Foundation is a non-profit, tax-exempt foundation under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The Education Foundation was created to provide research and direct services and to offer scholarships to advance education.
While providing scholarships to many students who have tuition expenses at various schools, The Education Foundation is supported solely by independent contributions and sponsors from numerous individuals and corporations.
South University’s history began in Savannah, Georgia, in 1899 with Draughon’s Practical Business College. Founded by Dr. John Draughon, the institution focused on teaching the fundamentals needed by successful businesses, including accounting, banking, shorthand, bookkeeping, and typewriting. Initially located in the Masonic Lodge building on the corner of Savannah’s Liberty and Whitaker Streets, the College was moved several times to accommodate growing enrollment before settling into the Atlantic Mutual Building.
