Founded in 1882, Pacific Union College is a Seventh-day Adventist Christian college with a strong liberal arts tradition. Located in the heart of California's Napa Valley, the college offers a fully accredited four-year program. It emphasizes academic excellence, authentic spiritual experience, and service to local and worldwide communities.
Pacific Union College is a Seventh-day Adventist learning community offering an excellent Christ-centered education that prepares its students for productive lives of useful human service and uncompromising personal integrity.
Student Life is the gateway to a wide variety of services, opportunities, and information offered to students across campus. Out-of-classroom activities complement, support, and integrate with in-class learning to promote Christian student development.
Student Life is under the direction of the vice president for Student Life and dean of students and comprises several specific departments with specialized responsibilities. Our goal is to enhance student life quality, build community, and help students meet the challenges of their college experience and their intellectual, spiritual, and personal development.
Outstanding academics is a point of pride at Pacific Union College and a crucial part of our reputation for educating successful students. It connects many aspects of life at PUC, bringing an atmosphere of excellence to the campus and resulting in practical payoffs like acceptance letters and high scores.
Community. Asking big questions. Expressing faith in worship and service. This is a campus with a dedication to honest inquiry, individual experience of faith, and expressing spirituality through active service. Students are always involved in prayer and Bible study groups, unique and varied worship services, and a very active core of service programs and ministry groups.
Pacific Union College is a learning community with a full calendar and a busy campus. Student activity is hardly limited to the classroom, and campus events range from concerts to service projects to prayer gatherings. Excellence here means a broad learning experience, a rich social community, and the experience and exploration of faith and human service.

When choosing a college, it makes sense to look at costs, but that is only one factor to consider as you plan for your future. Quality of education, your abilities and interests, and the college's programs, location, and alumni success should all play a role in your decision. Your PUC Student Financial Aid Counselor will work with you to find the best combination of options for funding your education.
The PUC Career and Counseling Center provides the campus with career counseling, personal counseling, and testing services. We endorse a holistic approach in working with students by facilitating the integration of the individual's emotional, intellectual, physical, social, and spiritual qualities. We believe that each person is a child of God and is created with a purpose and mission in life. Our goal is to assist each client, regardless of race, creed, or gender, to work toward reaching his/her potential academically, personally, interpersonally, spiritually, and occupationally.
Our career counselor can discuss career options, self-assessment, values, skills, interests, goals, and job-seeking strategies. We also have resources to help students develop practical interview skills and write resumes and application letters.
The PUC story begins with the Seventh-day Adventist Church, which has long had a strong education commitment. During the late 1800s and early 1900s, the church established schools and colleges near major population centers across North America.
In 1874 the church founded its first college in Battle Creek, Michigan. A few years later, the rapidly growing California church began looking for a good school location in Northern California.
One of PUC's significant contributions to the Adventist system was introducing graduate work in 1934 to establish a very successful summer program called the Advanced Bible School. After the 1936 session, the school was transferred to Washington, D.C., and became the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary.
Today the college's beautiful natural setting and California style continue to welcome hundreds of students each year, offering a community of real learning and spiritual authenticity.
