OC's close-knit community creates a culture where students, faculty, and staff go the extra mile for each other. Our knowledgeable professors teach from a Christian worldview and are fiercely dedicated to high standards of scholarship. But their commitment to students goes beyond the classroom. Their office doors are open, and you will see them side by side with students at daily Chapel and other Ethos events, in the cafeteria, at games against our NCAA Division II rivals, and on summer mission trips.
Oklahoma Christian opens many doors to faith-infused learning at home and abroad. OC's location just 10 minutes from downtown Oklahoma City provides access to jobs and internships, plus big-city entertainment like the NBA's Oklahoma City Thunder.
OC students have many ways to plug into other countries and cultures. OC's global reach includes 20 study abroad and off-campus learning options, plus service opportunities that take students around the world to help people in need.
OC is a place where you can realize your purpose and find your calling. OC is where you can get the tools and support you need to live life to the full. OC is a place you can call home.
Oklahoma Christian University is a higher learning community that transforms lives for Christian faith, scholarship, and service.
Our vision is "OC is Home. OC Grows. OC is Mission."
What began in 1950 as Central Christian College (with an enrollment of 97) has grown into a comprehensive Christian university serving almost 2,600 students. Affiliated with the churches of Christ, Oklahoma Christian welcomes all students who respect the university's commitment to academic and spiritual excellence and who respect the academic and spiritual pursuits of their fellow students.
Fourteen academic departments operate in one of five colleges (academic divisions): the College of Biblical Studies, the College of Business Administration, the College of Engineering and Computer Science, the College of Liberal Arts, and the College of Natural and Health Sciences. Students choose from more than 60 majors and 30 additional areas of study.
Graduate degrees include the Master of Accountancy, the Master of Business Administration, the Master of Science in Computer Science, the Master of Science in Engineering, the Master of Arts in Christian Ministry, the Master of Divinity, and the Master of Theological Studies.
The mission of Oklahoma Christian University's Study Abroad program is to deepen and broaden students' intellectual, social, spiritual, and aesthetic awareness as they study, travel, and serve in other cultures.
We believe that OC is one of the best universities in the USA for international students because of our undergraduate and graduate education's excellent quality, the low cost of living, friendly people, a dynamic local economy, diverse culture, and endless opportunities for Christian fellowship. Oklahoma Christian University welcomes students from all over the world, including international students from more than 50 countries.
Oklahoma has consistently ranked in the USA's top states for the lowest cost of living, which helps make us one of the cheapest universities for international students.
We provide a safe, welcoming college environment for international students. Our "Welcome to OC" kits supplies international college students with basics like sheets, pillows, a blanket, and other essentials needed to help students feel more at home after a long journey to university in the USA. Each kit is funded through donations from OC alumni and friends. Many are accompanied by a personal note welcoming new international students to the top university in America and Oklahoma Christian University.
These shows of generosity and fellowship are not unusual at Oklahoma Christian. Not only does OC provide a quality of education competitive with other top universities and colleges in the US, but it also provides an environment that fosters respect and friendship between students of all races, creeds, and colors. With a student body of around 2,000 students, more than half of whom are active participants in service and ministry organizations; international students may find that Oklahoma Christian is friendlier than other colleges in the USA, many universities possess student bodies of 15-20 thousand or more, which students in a new country can find overwhelming.
In a tight-knit community like OC, you're sure to feel welcome, which is part of what makes Oklahoma Christian one of the best Christian universities in the USA for international students. With the emphasis OC places on Christian faith, scholarship, and service, it is easy to see why more and more students are choosing Oklahoma Christian.
The Mission Statement of our Student Life Office is "Building relationships to enhance the student experience at Oklahoma Christian University."
UCS services are available to currently enrolled OC students as well as faculty and staff during the fall and spring semesters. During the summer, the Counseling Center is available for counseling emergencies and referrals. Depending on availability, a limited number of services are available to spouses of enrolled OC students as well as faculty and staff members.
