Founded in 1934, JU offers more than 100 majors and programs, including degrees in Business, Marine Science, Engineering, Physics, and Nursing, and those in the more contemporary and specialized fields of Aviation, Communication Sciences and Disorders, Film, Animation, and Sports Business.
Jacksonville University is located in a beautiful riverfront setting in suburban Jacksonville, across the St. Johns River from downtown and just minutes from the Atlantic Ocean. The 240-acre campus includes a half-mile of riverfront, oak-lined paths, and a mix of historic and new campus buildings.
We are proud to offer more than 100 academic majors to address today's students and aspiring professionals' diverse interests, curiosities, and educational needs. From Accounting to Aviation Choreography to Chemistry, students can align interests and aptitudes with virtually any long-term career aspiration. Our core curriculum combines a strong liberal arts foundation with pre-professional programs, undergraduate research, leadership opportunities, and an emphasis on engaged learning.
The University's residential campus is home to various social, cultural, Greek, religious, performance, and service organizations. The Kinne University Center and the new Davis Student Commons provide various facilities for students to enjoy campus life. Students live in residence halls and on-campus apartments.
Jacksonville University has 21 Division I athletic teams. Nearly 1 in 4 JU students compete in an intercollegiate varsity sport. The athletic facilities include a ballpark overlooking the river, new tennis and softball complexes, football, soccer, and track & field complex.
