IU South Bend believes that reducing the cost of college does not require sacrificing academic options. There is a wide range of majors and degree programs students can choose from at IU South Bend, including undergraduate and graduate degrees. We also offer opportunities for students to travel and earn college credit with our study abroad program.
As the largest regional campus of Indiana University, IU South Bend's history mixes tradition and innovation. Indiana University began teaching classes in South Bend in 1916 at Central High School located downtown. In 1961, IU South Bend moved to its current campus located along the St. Joseph River. In 1967, IU South Bend conferred its first degrees. Since then, every decade has seen growth in the student body and new facilities, including student housing.
More than 5,300 students attend IU South Bend, which now offers nearly 100-degree programs, 12 varsity sports playing in the Chicagoland Conference of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), and more than 300 full-time faculty members. Graduates earn an Indiana University degree, which is respected throughout the state, across the country, and worldwide.

IU South Bend's Center for Online Education provides the opportunity to take a variety of classes online. This broadens the scope of your educational resources and allows you to take classes that may be available from other Indiana University campuses - while remaining an IU South Bend student and staying close to home.
Student success is of the utmost importance at IU South Bend. We genuinely care about supporting our students as they pursue their dream of earning a college degree. This is why we established the IU South Bend Academic Centers for Excellence (ACE) and the Titan Success Center (TSC). ACE allows students to develop skills and strategies necessary for academic success in a safe and inclusive environment, including math tutoring and the writing center. TSC provides help with academic advising, course registration, schedule changes, and successful college strategies.

International Programs coordinates faculty-led overseas study to many parts of the globe and can assist students who wish to participate in any of over 200 IU overseas study experiences.
