The Division of Student Affairs enhances students' experiences both in and outside of the classroom by promoting personal wellness, intellectual development, and emotional growth. From Orientation through Commencement, the Division facilitates leadership and offers high-quality programs and services that foster an inclusive and diverse community.
A Cal Maritime education is the sum of many well-honed parts, with each element serving an essential purpose. Each of our six bachelor's degrees (majors) focuses on a different aspect of the little-known but dynamic maritime industry and related careers on land or sea.
Our 14-1 student-faculty ratio and classes averaging 20 students ensure access to our knowledgeable, supportive faculty. Cutting edge labs and simulators quickly take concepts from the textbook to hands-on application while building confidence in one's abilities. During the summer, our Training Ship Golden Bear exposes students to the responsibility of running a 500' vessel and the exotic cultures of international ports of call before returning during the primary school year as the pride of our campus.
Required internships in shore-side companies, with government agencies or aboard commercial ships, to complete the critical connection between classroom instruction and real-world practices and connect future graduates with possible employers.

The Corps of Cadets is an essential component of the leadership and professional development program at Cal Maritime. Every undergraduate student is required to participate in the Corps of Cadets. Through participation in the Corps, cadets develop self-discipline, self-esteem, and character to excel in their chosen careers.
The Edwards Leadership Development Program is a comprehensive co-curricular program integrated with academic programming, which will prepare our cadets for leadership opportunities within the Corps of Cadets, and our graduates for fulfilling careers in the global maritime workforce.
The Cadet-Community Connection offers cadets an opportunity to have a local "family connection." The Hosts -- caring residents from the local community -- will provide friendship, understanding, encouragement, plus a sense of family and the feeling of having a "home away from home" to incoming freshmen as they meet the challenges associated with a demanding first year.
Dining Services is dedicated to providing the best foodservice and catering possible. Our talented, experienced staff is responsible for the daily dining options for our cadets. This includes three full-service meals in our main dining hall and daily quick service dining in the Morrow Cove Cafe.
Cal Maritime Bookstore is your source for textbooks and school supply needs. You can also purchase tons of options for team apparel, gifts, and accessories for women, men, and kids. The Associated Students of the California Maritime Academy (ASCMA) serves as the California Maritime Academy's official governing body (Cal Maritime). It is comprised of a variety of students elected by the student body during the spring semester. The board meets regularly to discuss issues facing the student body, and participation by the greater student community is highly encouraged.
The Student Engagement & Academic Success (SEAS) Center supports student success at California Maritime Academy. Our staff is dedicated to providing a broad base of quality services, enhancing an interactive, student-centered learning environment.
Career Services seeks to complement the academic mission of Cal Maritime by educating and empowering students to take ownership of their professional development as a lifelong learner and to function successfully in a global society. The Student Health Center provides confidential, high quality and easily accessible clinic-based primary care services to all Cal Maritime matriculated students. The academy encourages students to utilize the Student Health Center for their medical needs such as urgent care (drop-in), scheduled appointments, physicals, introductory lab, specialty clinics, medications prescribed by our healthcare providers, and referrals to off-campus providers.
Student Financial Services provides students and parents with the information and tools necessary to understand and fulfill their financial responsibilities with Cal Maritime.
The Unity Council at Cal Maritime serves as an advisory group to the President and Cabinet on issues of unity and diversity at Cal Maritime. It ensures compliance with state and federal equal opportunity regulations. The Unity Council is a presidentially-appointed group of staff, faculty, and students at Cal Maritime devoted to advancing the academy's commitment to diversity and dedicated to creating an environment in which differences are both welcomed and appreciated.
