    Mariupol State University is a prestigious higher education establishment widely known in Ukraine and abroad and a center for training of highly qualified personnel, which plays a vital role in the development of practical cooperation between Ukraine and foreign states in the field of education, science, and culture.

    University consists of 5 faculties and 21 departments with 250 highly qualified teachers working at their premises. The teaching staff includes Candidates and Doctors of Science from MSU and other prestigious universities of Ukraine and leading scientists and practitioners from foreign countries.

    University trains Bachelors and Masters. Center for Pre-university Training and Student Engagement, which provides the training process at the preparatory department. Today, approximately 3200 students are studying at Mariupol State University with 100 international students from China, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Nigeria, Cameroon, Guinea, and other countries.

    A strategic task for the development of a university is to deepen integration into the European and world research and education system, ensuring a high quality of education services under international standards. University has signed more than 100 cooperation agreements with foreign partners. More than 1000 teachers, postgraduate students, Bachelor's and Master's students of MSU took part in international education, scientific and cultural programs abroad.

    Mariupol State University is frequently visited by official foreign delegations headed by presidents, prime ministers, governors, and mayors of cities, rectors of leading universities, famous scholars, public persons, and foreign diplomats. They conduct public lectures and meetings with students and teachers where topical issues in education, science, law, economics, and international relations are discussed.

    Mariupol State University trains foreigners under accredited specialties and trains foreign nationals for enrollment to the higher education institution based on the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine's License.

    University admits foreigners and stateless persons with completed secondary education for studying at the preparatory department of the Center for Pre-university Training and Foreign Students' Affairs/for receiving Bachelor's Degree in case if the future students know Ukrainian or Russian and degree which corresponds to the Bachelor's degree (Master studies). Invitations for education are issued throughout the year.

    Mariupol State University trains foreigners for enrollment at Universities based on the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine's license. Center for Pre-university Training and Student Affairs trains foreigners for enrollment at Mariupol State University and the any other University of Ukraine.

    The University curriculum allows trainees of the preparatory department studying Ukrainian or Russian at student's discretion. During the first term, only the Ukrainian or Russian language is taught. During the second term, under the training program chosen, the following subject is introduced: Math, Country Studies, Basics of Economics, History of Ukraine, etc. Studying all these subjects, students deepen their unique knowledge and get acquainted with new terminology of Ukrainian and Russian languages, which is the next stage of studying the language. Preparatory Department Graduates receive a certificate, which gives them a right to be enrolled at any university in Ukraine.

    Mariupol State University issues invitations for training:

    • To foreigners invited for training program lasting 90 days or more in the form established by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
    • To foreigners invited for short-term training program up to 90 days and part-time international students to participate in the overview session/exam session on the institution's official letterhead.

    The Konstantinos Leventis Library of Hellenistic Studies' official opening ceremony took place on June 17, 2006. Anastasios G. Leventis Foundation has provided materials and equipment for the Library. The executive board of this foundation provides ongoing, multifaceted support to the University. During the last few years, the Library has been visited by representatives of higher education institutions of Athens, Thessaloniki, Ioannina, Kyiv, Odesa, Lviv, and by many honorary guests, including President of the Hellenic Republic Karolos Papoulias (2008) and President of the Republic of Cyprus Demetris Christofias (2011). The reading hall of the Library counts 34 seats with computers and access to the Internet, an electronic catalog, and a multifunction printer. This makes the use of library sources more comfortable and more efficient. Konstantinos Leventis Library of Hellenistic Studies of MSU is the biggest one in the territory of CIS countries. It consists of 18 000 items of reference books, education, scientific and fiction literature in various languages. Access to the Library is free.
