Geneva School of Art and Design (HEAD – Genève) was formed in 2006 from the merger of two art schools, the Ecole supérieure des beaux-arts, and the Haute école d'artsd'arts appliqués, both over two hundred years old. Urban and international welcomes over 700 students from 40 different countries and offers Bachelor'sBachelor's and Master'sMaster's degree programs in fine arts, cinema, spatial design, visual communication, fashion, jewelry, and accessory design. Engaged in an ongoing dialogue with the art scene and the regional economic fabric, HEAD – Genève is continually evolving and has already established itself as one of Europe's foremost art and design schools.

Head: Genève offers a wide range of Bachelor'sBachelor's degree courses (fine arts, cinema, interior architecture, visual communication, fashion, and accessory design) and Master'sMaster's programs (fine arts, cinema, fashion, and accessory design, spaces and communication and media design). Workshops led by invited international designers, artists, and filmmakers contribute to an educational space's dynamism seen as an area of freedom and individual and social responsibility. A range of aesthetic practices based on research and experimentation, combined with access to extensive traditional or innovative technical resources, is balanced by theoretical teaching that focuses on knowledge acquisition and multidimensional thinking.

Know-how and knowledge are the two cornerstones of our educational approach that rejects dogmatism in favor of a critical understanding of the contemporary world. Attuned to today'stoday's cultural, social, and professional environment, the teaching provided at HEAD – Genève fosters close dialogue between staff and students, seen as the real actors in their creative journey. Students can express themselves during studio projects, classes, seminars, and workshops and through commissioned work in partnership with the public and private, professional sectors in art, cinema, and design.

Head: Genève is part of the HES-SO Geneva (University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Geneva), a key player in the economic, social, and cultural fabric of the city. Its six schools offer university-level courses focused on professional practice with a choice of 27 Bachelor'sBachelor's and 16 Master'sMaster's degree programs. Its 11 research institutes participate in numerous regional, national, and international projects. With a total student population of 5000, it is a member of the HES-SO, the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Western Switzerland.

Head: Genève welcomes some 700 students from 40 different nationalities. Its professors and speakers - more than 500 per year! - are similar to all backgrounds. For this reason, this site, like the school in its everyday life, is bilingual French / English, almost totally. This seems self-evident in an international and cosmopolitan city, in the heart of a global world.

Head: Genève is nevertheless deeply rooted in the city's business and cultural life, in which it participates significantly. Through mandates and partnerships with companies or international and city institutions, the school offers real projects to its students, experiences in real life. This seems obvious for a school concerned about its student's students' professional future and career.

HEAD - Geneva library is at disposal in the Boulevard Helvétique building. More than 30'00030'000 specialized books and 100 regular subscriptions to specialized magazines, reviews, and journals can be borrowed. The Library'sLibrary's catalog is part of the RERO(Western Switzerland Universities Library Network). On-site computers also allow free access to the Rectors Conference's massive scientific resources of the Swiss Universities of Applied Sciences. An extensive collection of films and videos by artists on DVD can be borrowed or watched on site. The Library'sLibrary's team is at disposal for help with any research and welcomes suggestions of purchase.

Foundation AHEAD is committed to enhancing the reputation of HEAD – Genève and supporting its young graduates as they enter the professional world. Its actions strengthen ties between the school and the city and promote Geneva as an international hub for contemporary art and design. The school'sschool's graduates may benefit from prizes, creative assistance, and publications (namely through monographs in the ''SAV'' collection and boxsets accompanied by ''Editions de Tête'Tête' reproductions).

The foundation aims to help them meet the professional world's demands and make a name for themselves in the Geneva, Swiss, and international art scenes. Thanks to the generous support of a private Geneva Foundation, Foundation AHEAD has created the AHEAD Design Incubator. This organization accompanies the most promising graduates by providing them with logistical and material support and coaching to develop and launch an entrepreneurial project or a brand in the field of art and design. The ambition of the Design Incubator is to provide them with insight into the business world by enabling them to conduct their creative project in the best possible conditions.

Should you wish to support our foundation'sfoundation's actions for HEAD graduates, you can become a member of the ''Cercle des Amis de la Fondation AHEAD'' (Circle of Friends of Foundation AHEAD) by paying an annual membership fee that will grant you several benefits (invitations to events, preferential rates on our publications and reproductions, etc.).
