    New Economic School, an outstanding higher education and research institute established in 1992. The mission of the New Economic School - modern economic education and research for the Russian society, business, and government. The quality of education at NES relies mainly on a strong faculty of Russian and foreign professors with a Ph.D. in economics and finance from the world's leading Universities and a healthy body of students. NES degree is highly regarded in Russia and abroad. NES graduates build careers in prestigious international and Russian companies continue their studies towards Ph.D. or MBA degrees at leading universities around the world. NES activities' main scope is education, research, corporate training, development of economic education in Russia and the CIS countries.

    There are several research centers at NES: a Center for Demographic Research (CDR), which was created in 2011, and a Research Laboratory of Social Relationships and Diversity of Society (CSDSI), established in 2013 in cooperation with the head researcher, professor Shlomo Weber, recipient of a significant grant from the Russian government. NES professors represent the leading edge of the Russian economic science in the world's community of economists, participate in the leading international conferences, and publish research papers in the most recognized international journals in economics, including Econometrica, American Economic Review, Quarterly Journal of Economics, Review of Economic Studies, Journal of Economic Perspectives, Journal of Economic Literature, Journal of European Economic Association, Journal of Finance, Journal of Business, American Political Science Review.

    NES trains highly qualified specialists for the Russian labor market and plays a vital role in developing economic education in Russia. NES professors also teach at the Moscow State University, RANHiGS, HSE, MISA, and others. Every year, winter and summer schools in different Russian cities are conducted for teachers and researchers from the regions. The task of such schools - support young scientists and their introduction into the global scientific environment. Well-known foreign economists are invited to participate in such workshops. Last winter, the school took place on Russkii, where the campus of Far Eastern Federal University is located. NES professors regularly make media appearances, write columns in the leading business media (RBK, Vedomosti, Kommersant, Forbes, Slon.ru, Rain, etc.). Topics they cover very often make the headlines in the media: Ruble's exchange rate, Central Bank's policy, the economic crisis, macroeconomics, financial politics, energy economics, alternative energy economics, social economics, demographics, consumer behavior, import-substitution, the impact of diversity on economic development.

    The mission of the New Economic School is to benefit Russia's private and public sectors through excellence in economics education and research. NES is committed to building a sustainable economics community capable of prominently representing Russia in the global economics profession:

NES aims to become a model for other developing and transition countries in building centers of excellence in economics. NES also disseminates modern economics knowledge to other universities in Russia, the CIS, and other emerging markets through its outreach activities.
