Kuban State University

Kuban State University is one of the largest scientific and educational centers in the South of Russia. Founded in September 1920, it has a 95-year history based on classical education's best traditions and recognized achievements. In 2015, the University consisted of 17 faculties, the Institute of Primary and Secondary Vocational Education, postgraduate training programs (60 specialties) and a higher doctorate (19 specialties), ten research institutes, the Institute of Testing Technology and General Further Education, the Professional Retraining and Advanced Training Institute. Among 55 other leading universities of Russia, Kuban State University won the competition of strategic development programs and has been implementing the program for three years already. Kubo's victory in the competition of student associations' activity programs has allowed the University to rise to the new level of development of the student government and educational work with students.
Kubo pays special attention to the improvement of education quality. Students and graduates of the University have won many international, national, and regional contests and competitions. Quality training of graduates is ensured using the "double diploma" project: students of the Faculty of Economics can obtain certificates of education equally recognized in Russia, Germany, and the Czech Republic. Effective integration of scientific and educational processes is characteristic of KubSU. The research carried out by KubSU scientists is of great interest both in our country and abroad, as evidenced by agreements on cooperation in the scientific field with international organizations and institutions and numerous awards given to KubSU for scientific developments by authoritative expert commissions of international and national exhibitions and competitions. International cooperation of KubSU in the field of education is continually expanding. Students, professors, and staff actively participate in academic mobility programs – they go to different foreign educational and scientific institutions to train, retraining and get practical experience.
The University is developing as a community-oriented organization, creating all necessary conditions for a person's self-realization in all spheres of activity - science, education, arts, sports, etc. A modern scientific and educational environment that ensures the training of competitive experts demanded in the society has been formed and consistently optimized in KubSU.
The University activities in international students training are highly appreciated by the universities and colleges of the USA and Great Britain, the students of which (from 10 to 20 persons in a group) come to study at Kuban State University. Consequently, KubSU has been cooperating with the Associated Colleges of the Midwest and Great Lakes (USA), uniting 28 colleges and two universities for more than 13 years. It has been successfully carrying out the agreement on academic programs exchange with the University of Bristol (England) for ten years. The University has created international students' study and leisure conditions that satisfy all the highest requirements. Due to the geographical situation of Krasnodar Territory (the center of southern Russia), Kuban State University gives international students a chance to study the history, culture, life and customs, traditions, habits, and ways of different nations in the Northern Caucasus.
Kubo offers Russian and overseas students its comfortable holiday homes at the Black Sea coast to have a good rest and, if necessary, modern medical treatment after hard work during the academic year. Students who don't speak Russian are welcome to take the intensive preparatory courses of different duration in Russian. Kubo is the leading University in the country in the field of theory and methodology of teaching Russian. The University has two Councils awarding Ph.D. and Professorship in Linguistics, which give international students a specific advantage in obtaining the highest possible knowledge of Russian to be applied in any field of study. Another benefit of Kuban State University is the possibility to get an education in English. For the international students who do not speak Russian, in the University there are courses in computational mechanics, solid mechanics, applied mathematics, seismology, economics, history, and several others in English provided by the English speaking instructors and lecturers or using simultaneous interpreting offered by the staff members and students of the Translation Department.
