Universidade de Lisboa (ULisboa) is the successor of the former Technical University of Lisbon and Universidade de Lisboa using a merger between the two institutions. This project results from the will to assemble the various knowledgeable areas in a single institution, creating, thus, the best conditions to keep up with the contemporary evolution of science, technology, arts, and humanities.
Universidade de Lisboa (ULisboa) is the largest and most prestigious university in Portugal and is one of Europe’s leading universities. Heir to a university tradition that spans over seven centuries, ULisboa acquired its current status in July 2013, following the merger of the former Universidade Técnica de Lisboa and Universidade de Lisboa. ULisboa brings together various areas of knowledge and has a privileged position for facilitating the contemporary evolution of science, technology, arts, and humanities. The quality of teaching, research, innovation, and culture of ULisboa is attracting an ever-increasing amount of talent from around the world. Visual identity of Universidade de Lisboa (ULisboa), To promote and facilitate the understanding of the rules regarding the use of the institution's visual identity, Universidade de Lisboa (ULisboa) provides a Handbook of Graphic Standards aimed at the entire academic community, but also to society at large. This manual provides the main rules of the use of identity resulting from the most common situations. Compliance with these standards is very important for effective image communication (brand), it's positioning, and differentiation, and it is crucial that the use of the elements of this kit rigorously follows the rules found therein.
ULisboa is set on promoting its cohesion and spirit of identity on attracting the best students on fostering interaction with productive structures and public authorities on encouraging the renewal, qualification, and mobility of Human Resources on reinforcing its intervention and influence skills within strategic international scenarios on the consolidation of a Quality Management System on providing culture for the University and for the City of Lisbon on encouraging social responsibility and sports, health and well-being at ULisboa, as well as improving the infrastructures available for the academic community.
Universidade de Lisboa has museums, botanical gardens, collections, and cultural heritage of scientific, historical, and artistic nature and great prominence within the Portuguese and international contexts.
Universidade de Lisboa integrates Schools, research units, and other units, structures, and services. Schools - designated as Faculties or Institutes - are educational and research units with self-governing bodies. Research units may, as regulated in the Statutes, have self-governing bodies. Autonomous Services are also considered units. Within the Universidade de Lisboa, there is also the Rectory, the Colleges, and the Specialized Units. The units, structures, and services are all coordinated in a way that they comply with the University guidelines and those of their governing bodies.
