Aldersgate College

Aldersgate College was founded in 1965 by pioneering Methodist lay leaders led by Mrs. Pilar D. Galima and Mr. Froilan B. Calata. The school was named Aldersgate, after the street in London where John Wesley, the founder of Methodism, felt his heart strangely warmed, and realized that Salvation, which he believed can be attained through Wisdom and Piety, can only be finally achieved by the Grace of God through faith in Christ. Aldersgate College was established to develop the power of reason, to liberate people from ignorance, penury, and hopelessness, and to empower them to commence their journey for social and economic transformation and spiritual Salvation.
Aldersgate College Elementary School is a school hidden within the confines of Aldersgate College, a promising college founded in 1965 located in a 20,000 square meter lot in the progressive town of Solano, Nueva Vizcaya. It was primarily established as the laboratory school for B.E.Ed. Students. It is small in size and population compared with its neighboring public schools. However, through the years, its pupils, although outnumbered, have proved that they can outdo and outwit pupils from other schools, as evidenced by their victories in contests and competitions they have participated in. And what is more? The school has a dedicated, intelligent, and enthusiastic teaching force who temper their teaching styles to accommodate pupils' learning styles by employing varied teaching strategies from the time-tested methods to the use of the latest technology.
And there is a mantle of uniqueness that sets AC-ES from the rest of elementary schools. It is the first school in Region 2 to offer computer subjects in grade school. Compared with any other elementary school pupils, the pupils are a step ahead of where information technology is concerned. Their computer subjects start in Grade 1. Once they step into high school, they will have already learned the ins and outs of Microsoft Word, which they learned in Grade IV, Powerpoint which they learned in Grade V, and Excel, which they learned in Grade VI, in addition to Internet surfing which they learned since they were in Grade III making them more prepared for the demands of a rapidly changing environment in this cyber age.
The Science High School shall be an educational and transformational arm of Aldersgate College pursuing holistic development of secondary school students. The Science High School shall train and develop academically excellent, socially-relevant, and spiritually-nurtured students who shall be well prepared to tackle professional careers in the Sciences amidst a globally competitive environment.
Aldersgate College High School is dedicated to providing an environment conducive to creative scholarship and scientific inquiry through its unique educational system. It is committed to empowering students to excel to their fullest potential and promote lifelong learning by delivering essential learning standards that would help the students become competent through scientific exploration, discovery, and creative expression through various media in all disciplines.
Aldersgate School of Arts and Music is being established to serve the children and youth's overwhelming interest in music and drama. In this respect, training in voice, piano, organ, guitar, and brass band instruments are offered.ACI was conceived and initiated in 1987 to accelerate computer literacy and the use of multi-media in instruction. Its main program covers (a) software development for educational instruction and management and (b) student-faculty training on educational and professional software applications.
Established in 2008, ACI Software was created to evolve into an IT company of Aldersgate College that will market the Educational Management Software developed by ACI. This will be accomplished in conjunction with the Aldersgate College Review Center branching-out in various locations as the ACRC– Paragon Review Center (ACRC-PRC).
In 2000, ACI was awarded a 3 Million Peso GRANT by HEWLETT-PACKARD to implement Project COMPUTER (Community Partnerships for Upgrading Technology in Education). This has made Aldersgate College the first school in Nueva Vizcaya to integrate educational technologies (Computers, Internet, LAN/WAN, Digital Projectors, Micro-Video, Digital Multi-Media Resources, Computer-Aided Testing & Review) from the elementary and secondary through the tertiary curricula. Project COMPUTE has also contributed to strengthening the information technology programs in public schools by continuously providing free Multi-Media and Computer Training to teachers and students of public elementary and secondary schools since 2000.
Aldersgate Street's experience was the inspiration of this College that whosoever passes through its portals comes out transformed: morally upright and spiritually awakened – a brave and sagacious leader, with an enlightened mind, a compassionate heart, and able and ready hands. Aldersgate started as a Junior College offering Secretarial, Liberal Arts, and Education courses, along with two laboratory schools offering elementary and secondary courses. While Aldersgate began in 1965 as a church school under the jurisdiction of the Northern Philippines Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church, it was incorporated in 1970 while starting to send out its first batch of graduates.
CREATE (Center for Rural Enterprise & Appropriate Technology) was conceived and initiated in 1988 to remedy the lack of organized knowledge about rural enterprises and appropriate technologies and to assist in indigenous resource and community development to increase rural incomes. It started with two programs: (a) Program for Management Development, Extension and Credit (PROMDEC), and (b) PROJECT TREE.
