    We believe that a planned social change, which is deep and broad yet sustainable, can only be cultivated through consistent and effective delivery of good education to the masses. The University of Education has the unique responsibility to produce, and maintain a steady supply of, such capable professionals. Therefore, we commit ourselves to advance the study and practice of education including excellence in the allied knowledge areas, and to develop comprehension of the interactions between them. While endeavoring to fulfill this commitment we emphasize creating a culture where the future educationists learn and practice what they are supposed to demonstrate in terms of values & virtues as well as the abilities & attitudes, hence, we set our objectives as:

    • To study and practice contemporary theories, methods, technologies, and mediums of teaching/learning and to prepare personnel for a variety of professional roles in the field of education.
    • To develop adaptations of the latest knowledge to the local environment in terms of economy, culture, religion, languages, or any other relevant parameters and at the same time conduct indigenous research to effectively contribute to the body of knowledge in the areas related to educational needs, practices and issues.
    • To participate in and contribute to the matters like educational policy, curriculum design & development, teaching/learning materials development, educational attainment standards, education delivery mechanisms, and development of educational organizations, etc.
    • To develop collaborative linkages with and provide support to local, provincial, national, and international agencies mandated with the provision, regulation, and/or promotion of education and related services.

    The University of Education, though established in 2002, has a long history of excellence and service. The oldest of its constituent campuses, the Lower Mall Campus, had initiated its operations in 1880 while the Bank Road Campus was established in 1933. These institutions have, over their life, produced hundreds of thousands of capable educationists who have enlightened generations across the sub-continent and abroad. The rich history and legacy of these institutions remain our inspiration and we continue the pursuit of excellence with full vigor.

    To prepare dynamic leaders and practitioners in teaching, research, and management having content excellence, pedagogical competence, commitment, and integrity who may ensure quality and sustainable development at all tiers and sectors of education.

    The University of Education was the highest seat of learning in teacher education with clear goals and objectives of producing quality teachers of international standards.

    For harmonious and all-around growth and development of students’ personalities and character building, sports and other co-curricular activities such as debates, speeches, dramas, art exhibitions, and other healthy activities are organized regularly. Students are motivated to learn the art of peaceful co-existence and finding solutions to problems through dialogues and discussions. Due to such initiatives, significant changes could be observed in the outlook and behavior of the students. It is due to these earnest efforts, meticulous diligence, and untiring strife that UE graduates are fitting in well at home and abroad in the system as well as in the employment market which indeed is a matter of pride for UE.
