Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) is a research university specializing in engineering science & technology. Our education, research, and knowledge valorization contribute to:

    • Science for society: solving the major societal issues and boosting prosperity and welfare by focusing on the Strategic Areas of Energy, Health and Smart Mobility
    • Science for industry: the development of technological innovation in cooperation with industry
    • Science for science: progress in engineering sciences through excellence in essential research cores and innovation in education

We see it as our duty to train engineers to possess a sound scientific basis and scientific depth. They also have the necessary skills to flourish in social sectors and functions successfully. With a view to the future, TU/e has begun a major educational reform. The Bachelor's and Master's programs remain but are being incorporated in a Bachelor's College and Graduate School. Students will be given more freedom and can even choose to follow a broad-based program with society-oriented subjects or opt for a very specialized science program. With advanced quality research, the university contributes to technical sciences' progress and thus the development of technological innovations. We focus on areas in which we participate in the international scientific community. This can play an important role. The TU/e wants to give significant impetus to the knowledge-intensive industries and other social sectors with a high or rapidly evolving technology-intensity.

The TU/e emphasizes knowledge valorization: research results are translated into successful innovations and serve as a basis for creating new products, processes, and enterprises. We encourage students and staff to opt for entrepreneurship. With this profile, the TU/e profiles itself as a leading, international engineering science & technology specialized university. We offer excellent teaching and research and thereby contribute to the advancement of technical sciences and research to develop technological innovations and the growth of wealth and prosperity both in its region (technology & innovation hotspot Eindhoven) and beyond.

TU/e places great importance on several core values. The scientific independence and integrity of scientific staff are key priorities. TU/e also highly values transparency and integrity in business relationships. As an organization, we regard it as crucial for staff and students to act with integrity in research, knowledge transfer, and education. This is not self‑evident and must be promoted actively. That is why at TU/e, we commit ourselves to codes of conduct and regulations that guide working and studying at our university.

At TU/e, agreements have been made with full professors and other staff informing management regarding ancillary activities. Based on clause 1.14 of the Netherlands Universities CLA, the staff must report ancillary activities officially. In addition to this national regulation, TU/e also has a TU/e specific agreement for her staff. TU/e takes the ancillary activities' transparency very seriously and has intensified the supervision of the ancillary activities. Regularly we examine the accuracy of the information displayed on the personal detail pages of TU/e staff.

Furthermore, the topic of ancillary activities is a recurring component of the R&O annual reviews. TU/e contributes to the progress of technical sciences and the development of technological innovations. Its research plays a significant role in the international scientific community.

Recently, the TU/e CareerCenter had a makeover, which means there are now two different parties you can turn to for assistance and activities in career development. TU/e Technificent for guidance towards the labor market and TU/e Career Academy for career support in education extension. Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) publishes some publications in both printed and digital formats. These publications are university magazine and news website Cursor Slash, the magazine for external relations policy memoranda and Annual Reports, a couple of brochures about the university, and the texts of lectures and speeches.

TU/e is clustering forces with other universities and partners at home and abroad. In this way, we build our international competitive position and reputation and offer a more international climate for study and work.
