Unity College was established in Canberra, Australia, in 1995 and had its foundations in grassroots ministry training for local churches. Unity College Australia is committed to delivering quality vocational education and training programs from a Christian perspective to equipping people to contribute to contemporary society effectively. Unity College Australia's programs strive for:

    • Academic excellence (developing intellectual discipline and expertise for attaining and developing knowledge and skills and providing a basis for further education).
    • Vocational competency (practical skills and methods related to Christian ministry or workplace-related skills).
    • Character development - personal growth based on Christian character foundations.
    • Vocational outcomes range from service and leadership in Christian ministry to competent, professional service in the general community (e.g., information technology, community care, management, and creative arts).

Unity College Australia pursues a distinctly Christian philosophy of education based on principles applied to all areas of life and work. This includes Christian Ministry courses that enable students to apply the Christian life practically in serving others. The College's general vocational courses are open to students from all nationalities, faiths, and cultural backgrounds. Because it is trans-denominational and independent, the College can appeal to students from a broad cross-section of Christian streams.

Our mission is to provide training which:

    • Is relevant and of high quality.
    • Assists students to achieve excellence in the workplace.
    • Develops an awareness of others' needs and skills to respond appropriately.
    • Promotes an appreciation of the contribution of the Christian faith to self and society.
    • Fosters personal maturity and character development lead to an ability to contribute effectively to society as a whole.

Unity College was chosen to reflect the unity between the churches in Canberra to pool their resources and provide training previously only afforded by larger churches in the capital cities. In 1998 the College obtained it is Registered Training Organisation (RTO) status and began delivering government accredited training with a particular emphasis on Christian ministry and creative arts. Since then, the College has taken up a national focus to provide training in other centers around the country through partnerships. From 2004 onwards, locations in New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia, and Tasmania have undertaken teaching across various courses.

In recent years opportunities to also provide training internationally have emerged. The College has also recognized the need to train in the general community with a Christian worldview and has added a substantial number of courses with more general vocational outcomes to its registration scope in recent years.
