      1. Our aims are: To promote a wide range of creative experiences which enable children to make full use of their imaginations To promote, facilitate and enable the inclusion of children with disabilities and special educational needs To provide an environment that is safe, supportive, and caring To provide a broad and balanced curriculum that is differentiated to match teaching to pupils’ needs To enable the acquisition of skills, knowledge, and understanding which will be of use to all future learning To develop lively and enquiring minds through encouraging children to question and discuss issues, to make informed decisions To nurture self-esteem so children are motivated to learn and to develop an ability to co-operate and work with others To recognize, respect, and celebrate individual religious and cultural values and to celebrate the rich diversity within our multi-faith community To promote positive attitudes, good behavior, and moral understanding, and to establish a sense of pride and achievement in being part of our school community To work in full partnership with parents To ensure equal opportunities are addressed throughout all aspects of the school day At Scott Wilkie, we help each child achieve her/his maximum potential. To do this, we believe in creating a positive and secure environment in which children learn that good manners, respect, and consideration for others are extremely important. We encourage children to become more self-confident, mature, and independent. We also encourage them to recognize the important contribution they have to make to the life of the school. At Scott Wilkie Primary School, we aim to enable all children, including those with Special Educational Needs to enjoy a well-balanced and broad curriculum. We pride ourselves in supporting pupils to develop their confidence, independence, and a positive self-esteem in a secure and caring environment. As part of their education, children are often taken on trips or visits. These will be to museums, galleries, and places of interest and relate directly to the work the children are doing in school and the National Curriculum. They provide valuable knowledge and experience that the children will need. They may be at the beginning of a half term to “spark things off”, or at the end to consolidate the work that has been done. You may rest assured that these trips are well planned and properly supervised. Without parents volunteering to help on these trips, they cannot take place. View full school
