      1. Baldwin Wallace University is an academic community committed to the liberal arts and sciences as the foundation for lifelong learning. The University fulfills this mission through a rigorous academic program characterized by excellence in teaching and learning within a challenging, supportive environment that enhances students' intellectual and spiritual growth. Baldwin Wallace helps students prepare to become contributing, compassionate citizens of an increasingly global society and encourages their pursuit of personal and professional excellence. Baldwin Wallace University continues to earn high marks for affordable excellence in rankings designed to help families find the right college fit. Reaffirming our commitment to the liberal arts and sciences as the foundation for lifelong learning, Baldwin Wallace will excel at providing a student-centered experience that supports each individual in achieving their full potential in pursuit of meaningful careers and extraordinary life. Baldwin Wallace has long been committed to the success of its students. Evidence of this can be seen in the extraordinary successes of its alumni spread throughout the United States and the world. As we look to the celebration of our 175th anniversary in 2020, this renewed planning effort aims to intentionally position BW as an institution of high quality and broad reputation to ensure financial and enrollment strength as the foundation for a dynamic and robust future. While there is overwhelming agreement on the BW campus about the content of the institution's core values, its ability to deliver, strengthen, perpetuate and refine the benefits of its programs is built on a solid foundation composed of four key strategies: community, the learning experience, inclusion, and vitality. The strategic plan includes broad objectives supported by short- and longer-term initiatives and tactics to elevate our program and performance in each of these areas. Baldwin Wallace University affirms a commitment to diversity in various forms, believing that diversity is more than an all-inclusive list of demographics. Baldwin Wallace's rich history is distinctively tied to inclusion. We are dedicated to building upon that legacy by celebrating our heritage, acknowledging our challenges, and promoting a community structure that reflects our multicultural and intercultural world's diversity. We aim to achieve diversity in all that we do to strengthen the community of Baldwin Wallace University further. At Baldwin Wallace University, we define diversity as the ability to think critically while acknowledging and respecting different beliefs, practices, and norms. Diversity is a process of opening minds and hearts to different opinions. Diversity fosters learning outcomes that are enhanced by life, classroom and professional experiences, and the appreciation of cultural and social beliefs. Also, BW diversity encourages each individual to explore and embrace individual uniqueness as we uphold our community standards, celebrate strategic change, and honor traditions. The Diversity, Integration, and Inclusion Committee at Baldwin Wallace University has taken the necessary steps to define diversity consistently with the community's desire to monitor and facilitate diversity initiatives and thinking ways. The definition does not infringe on the Federal Government's guidelines related to the Civil Rights Act of 1964 or the Anti-Discrimination Law. Further, the definition does not usurp the Non-Discrimination Policy enforced at Baldwin Wallace University. Research is an exciting part of the BW experience. In addition to being dedicated teachers, our professors are passionate scholars and researchers who are more than willing to involve you in their latest project or activity. BW's Undergraduate Research and Creative Studies (URCS) supports student and professor's partnership in a creative, hands-on approach to learning. Regardless of your interest, you'll have the chance to pursue research or a creative project in almost every field. And you won't do it alone. You will be involved, and a conscientious mentor will guide you.URCS lists some of these research opportunities, but you and your professor might develop a new idea of your own. A Baldwin Wallace education melds a liberal arts core curriculum with our more than 80programs of study's rigor and focus. Whatever your calling, you'll graduate with the diverse and practical skill set to impress the nation's top employers and graduate programs. Since its founding, Baldwin Wallace University has pursued its pioneering founders' goals, offering a superior, personalized education that acts as a great leveling tool, fosters personal and professional excellence, and prepares students as contributing, compassionate citizens.
