      1. We are an oversubscribed, one-form entry school within the ‘village’ setting of East Barnet. Our history of being part of the local and church community goes back hundreds of years. Recognizing its historic foundation, the school will preserve and develop its religious character by the principles of the Church of England and its partnership with the church at the parish and diocesan levels. The school aims to serve its community by providing an education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice. It encourages an understanding of the meaning and significance of faith and promotes Christian values through the experience it offers to its pupils. At the same time, the school embraces those of all faiths and none, recognizing the richness of the multi-culture of our parish and the children who attend the school. Those of all faiths and none will be respected, supported, and affirmed. Through our curriculum, including Religious Education, and practical application of our gospel values we will ensure that children grow in knowledge and understanding, mutual respect, and acceptance. In partnership with St Mary’s Church, children have opportunities to develop their understanding of the Christian faith, as well as learning about faiths and cultures. We enjoy seeing children succeed in many different ways working in partnership with parents and carers. We are proud to be preparing today’s children for the challenges of the 21st Century, by providing a broad curriculum incorporating new technologies, numeracy, literacy, science, humanities, Religious Education, sport, French, and the arts. Our values as a church school form the basis of our emphasis on the development of the whole child, socially, emotionally, culturally, and spiritually. Through excellent teaching, we will deliver an inspirational curriculum. We will enable every child to make the very best progress. We will work in partnership with children and families to further promote confidence and self-esteem. We will prepare children to confidently face the challenges of growing up in the 21st Century. We will provide children with an understanding of local, national, and global communities and faiths. With St Mary's Church, Brookside Methodist, and other local churches, we will further develop an understanding of gospel values in action through worship and across the curriculum. View full school
