Vinehall is a leading co-educational day, boarding school, and nursery for children between the ages of 2 and 13. Our children leave Vinehall to go onto a wide range of the UK’s most prestigious Senior Schools. We foster a love of learning for its own sake by encouraging our children to ask questions and think for themselves. Our children develop the necessary skills to work productively and to become resilient, resourceful, and reflective learners, unafraid to try something new or of making mistakes. Our innovative curriculum includes Life Skills, Ethics, and Engineering embedding knowledge that will enable them to flourish in the ‘real world’. In this ever-changing world, our warm family environment allows children to remain children for as long as possible. All Year 8 pupils are presented with a shield at their final Prize Giving when they leave Vinehall. The shield is a unique tradition that reflects the numerous ways in which each pupil has progressed through their years at the School and each one is therefore bespoke. The shield displays the pupil’s name, their house, year of starting and leaving Vinehall, as well as the senior school to which the pupil is moving on to and a red star if a scholarship has been awarded., The four quarters of the shield represent different areas of achievement Leadership, Academic, Sport, and Creative. Each pupil will have opportunities during their school career to pursue differing areas, as well as following common subjects within the timetable. Individual icons represent each aspect and are color-coded based on the level achieved, with red denoting the highest level. Life at Vinehall is extremely busy but thoroughly rewarding. It would be fair to say no two days are the same, as there is always something different happening. Trips, exciting learning opportunities, external visiting speakers, fixtures, musical opportunities, to name but a few. Vinehall encapsulates everything a traditional prep school should offer. Our priority is the academic progress of our pupils but marrying that with a plethora of opportunities to develop resilience, independence, and higher-order thinking skills is encouraged in all that we do.
