- In Upland Primary School From the first day in the Nursery, through to Year Six, we aim to provide a structured, safe, stimulating, and supportive environment. Every child will have the opportunity to engage in the wonder of learning and discovery within the security of a caring atmosphere, where teachers, parents, and other adults work together within the school community. Our vision is to develop children’s active and creative minds, through fun, inspiring opportunities to learn. We will develop confident lifelong learners with skills to tackle the present and the future. Our Aims are to: Enable children to foster a love for learning. Develop confident and self-motivated learners. Equip our pupils with the skills needed to succeed in our ever-changing economic environment. Develop, model, and encourage respect, responsibility, and empathy towards all. Provide our pupils with opportunities to be active and healthy. Provide for our pupil's emotional wellbeing. Keep our pupils safe and secure in the school environment. Work closely with parents/ carers and families to support their children We will do this by: Ensuring there is an innovative and investigative approach to teaching. Creating an ethos of support, challenge, and encouragement to succeed. Developing a curriculum that is broad, balanced yet challenging and also reflects our local community as well as a global dimension. Providing a varied, creative range of up-to-date resources to enable children to understand and explore the changing world of technology. Offering an enriching program of schools trips/ visitors to the school and extra-curricular activities Creating effective working partnerships between the home, school, and the wider community. The children of Upland do have a voice. We have an active school forum that works closely with the Headteacher to not only bring about change but put forward the voice of the children to be heard. Most recently the children have been involved in designing new dishes for the school lunch menu. As well as this they have been thinking about what would make our playground more exciting. At Upland school, we are proud to be developing an exciting and innovative curriculum that ensures that when our pupils leave in year 6, they leave with a comprehensive package of academic results and the creative and personal skills to serve them in the rest of their education and onwards in life.
