We are a three-form entry school, except our Year 6-year group which has two classes. We are a dynamic and vibrant primary school and pride ourselves on our wonderful pupils, our inspiring and creative teaching methods, and our state-of-the-art learning environment. We continue to work in close partnership with our parents/carers to ensure you remain informed and involved in your child’s learning and development, and our regular communications between school and home, provide your child with the foundations for success. We offer extensive and unique opportunities beyond the curriculum to enhance our pupils’ experience our rich and varied extra-curriculum program is one element of this and provides each child with the opportunity to learn new skills and develop their confidence. Our Children’s Centre, located behind our school building, ensures our children have the best start in life. The center provides a wide range of free activities and support services to families with children under the age of five. Our experienced and passionate team of staff, including our senior leaders and governors, remain committed to providing each child with an exceptional start to their education by creating a unique and interesting learning environment, full of opportunities within and beyond the classroom. Stockwell Primary School is a fully inclusive school. We cater to pupils with English as an Additional Language and pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Pupils with English as an Additional Language are supported by a team of Teaching Assistants who speak a wide range of languages e.g. Portuguese, Spanish, French, Arabic. We employ Learning Mentors and a Family Link Worker who work with some of our most disadvantaged families helping them to break barriers to their learning. At Stockwell Primary School we believe that there needs to be consistency across the school in the way the behavior of children is managed and that provision is put in place to promote a positive environment. We gather information on children attending our schools in a census each term, which gives an insight into the demographic of our school communities. This includes a breakdown of gender, children with special educational needs and disabilities, children entitled to free school meals, looked after children, ethnicities, languages, religions, and beliefs. We use this information about our communities to help us identify any groups who may be under-represented or under-performing and plan to narrow those gaps. We deliver a cross-curricular and creative curriculum, using non-traditional methods to engage children in the learning process and expand their skills, knowledge, and interests. We understand the importance of regular monitoring and evaluation and assess our pupils’ performance throughout the year.
