Government College Women University, Sialkot, a prime partaker in developing education in Sialkot. Established in 1951 as a college, it is Sialkot’s oldest institution of higher learning. From humble beginnings, it emerged as Sialkot’s most distinguished and iconic educational institution, resulting in its up-graduation as a University in 2012. GCWUS is dedicated to the promotion of quality education in a wide range of new Disciplines. The high standards set by GCWUS have made it the first choice of many aspiring students. In addition to undergraduate programs being offered, GCWUS has amplified its offerings to graduate and postgraduate courses, including MS programs in Urdu, Economics, Islamic Studies, Political Sciences, and English. GCWUS is the first Women University in Sialkot as it has been universally realized that women play a vital role in a country’s governance. To produce a highly-skilled women workforce to cater to the country’s current and future needs, especially for the transformation of the society to a Patriotic, Productive, Tolerant, and Cooperative Society through: Dissemination of Knowledge Creation of Knowledge Preservation of Knowledge Engagement and Outreach The Intermediate classes started in 1951, F.Sc classes in 1952, and B.Sc. in 1960. The College was upgraded into a Post Graduate College in 1989, offering Master Classes in the subject of English, Urdu, and Islamiyat. BS Hons. 4 Years Degree Program was introduced by the Higher Education Department in 2010. -
