Sevenoaks is a co-educational day and boarding school for students aged 11 to 18. Rated 'exceptional' for teaching and learning by the Independent Schools Inspectorate, we are proud of our innovative, thinking approach to education, our academic excellence, our strong pastoral and co-curricular foundation, and our pioneering service and social impact program which we started in the 1960s. Our superb 100-acre campus is in the Kent countryside, just half an hour from Central London and Gatwick International Airport. The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme inspires an inclusive, enriching, and global dimension. With some 1180 pupils, including international students from over 45 countries around the world, the student body is lively, cosmopolitan, and open-minded. Boarding is an important element in the school's daily life and ethos, while our 600-year history, location, and day student body ensure that the school remains firmly grounded in the local community. Around one-third of the students are boarders, and two-thirds day pupils. The school admits boys and girls at 11, 13, and 16. Sevenoaks has a reputation for exploring new ideas and is known for a global outlook that permeates the entire education experience. We were the first HMC school to adopt the IB and to drop A-levels entirely. We have taught the IB since 1978, and our IB cohort is the largest and one of the most successful in England. In recent years we have developed our own externally moderated exams, Sevenoaks School Certificates, which are taken in Year 11. All of our Sixth Form students pursue the International Baccalaureate Diploma, a program the school has delivered for over 40 years.
