  1. Middle States Association. SAS is part of a group of unique, small, and highly professional institutions that are designated as an Office of Overseas Schools for the United States Department of State. This means that we are supported by and recognized by the US State Department. Our Mission: “The mission of the Schutz American School family is to provide a premier education empowering all of our students to pursue their passions as confident global citizens.” Schutz is Family is our school motto. We live this through the strong sense of community and the relationships fostered between the Board, Head, staff, students, and parents. Every aspect of our program focuses on teaching and learning and doing what’s best for our students. Students pursue a rigorous and challenging curriculum that prepares them for success in some of the most competitive colleges and universities throughout the world. The word PRIDE (Perseverance, Respect, Integrity, Dignity, Excellence), embodies the traits we believe in and teach our students as they go on to become the future leaders of our societies. We PRIDE ourselves on having an outstanding, highly qualified, and innovative staff who are passionate about their work, dedicated to their students and committed to our mission statement and core values. We PRIDE ourselves on attracting students who are intellectually driven and engaged in their learning and who display the ability to become global, caring, and service-oriented members of their societies. This is what shapes our Schutz community. “Schutz is family,” our motto, has characterized SAS since its beginning in 1924. We serve over 270 students from both international and Egyptian families. Our commitment is to provide students a well-rounded program to develop their full intellectual, emotional, physical, and social potential. The sense of family makes SAS special and creates an understanding, cooperative, and healthy learning environment for all. Our focus is on personalized approaches to achieve our mission, “a premier education empowering all of our students to pursue their passions as confident global citizens.” In close partnership with parents, our experienced teaching staff of American and other highly qualified international and Egyptian educators work to ensure that Schutz students discover and develop the talents, competencies, and character traits necessary for academic success and personal fulfillment. We aim to cultivate responsible global citizens who are “smart with a heart.” As a non-sectarian day school, we offer enrollment to students who are seeking an American-based international education and demonstrate the ability to access and benefit from our challenging academic program. We offer the Advanced Placement (AP) program providing the opportunity for our graduates to attend the finest colleges and universities around the world. We are certified members of CEESA and NEAS ( Neat East South Asia Council of Overseas Schools.
