  1. With the vibrancy of our new state-of-the-art campus and the pride of our 55-year backdrop of excellence in education, the American International School - Riyadh embraces the future. As you enter our beautiful, purpose-built setting, you will be greeted by 60 colorful flags of the world waving in the soft desert wind and celebrating our long-standing tradition of outstanding international education. At the same time, you will be captivated by our diverse expatriate community, engaged in deep conversation and activities about learning and well-being. Since 1963, AIS-R has earned a solid reputation for rigorous academic pursuits, high student achievement, innovative practices, and exceptional co-curricular programming. We are a proud mission-driven community of learners and leaders, immersed in an ethos of shared beliefs, values, and celebration. We are AIS-R Eagles. Our Mission commits us to excellence, and our vision challenges us to prepare learners for enriched opportunities ahead. As a modern learning organization, we are dedicated to nurturing responsive, adaptive, and motivated global citizens through a dynamic, strengths-based educational program that is fortified through the AIS-R Eagle Honor Code. We proudly uphold full accreditation awarded by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) and the Council of International Schools (CIS), and we are authorized to grant the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma. We have recently been honored with “International Certification” through CIS, which validates our drive for intercultural understanding and global citizenship. As a result, AIS-R’s graduates readily matriculate to an array of the most prestigious colleges and universities worldwide. The culture of thinking and learning at AIS-R be it in the ultramodern STEM, Robotics, or Science labs on the grass fields through activity-rich classrooms or in our 700-seat performance arts theater produces creative, active, and memorable experiences, such as #EagleEffect or TedX Youth@AIS-R. We hire and retain exceptional educators who focus their energy and expertise on developing students holistically, and, therefore, foster the habits of mind, life-worthy skills, and dispositions, that learners require to develop into responsible, active, and ethical global citizens. Complementing this innovative learning context, AIS-R offers students an impressive array of co-curricular enrichment programs, including competitive sports, global travel, and intercultural experiences (such as our Week Without Walls program), performing and fine arts opportunities, cooperative and service-oriented clubs, and numerous special activities. From Kindergarten to Senior year, our AIS-R Eagles take compassionate ACTION for a peaceful world. As a school committed to excellence, we will educate and inspire our students to be responsible, productive, and ethical global citizens with the skills and passion to think creatively, reason critically, communicate effectively and learn continuously. We will accomplish this in an American educational environment characterized by high measurable standards and a clearly defined, appropriately interrelated college preparatory curriculum, implemented by a superior staff in partnership with students, parents, and the community.
