      1. With the help and support of local communities, Shizuoka Sangyo University's School of Management was founded in 1994 and its School of Communications and Informatics (now the School of Information Studies) in 1998. Since then, the university has become known in the surrounding community as a university with a youthful spirit and a clear vision for the future, making significant contributions to the development of industry in Shizuoka Prefecture. Our basic philosophy is to promote the specialized vocational knowledge demanded by the industrial and international society of the 21st century, and we regard the provision of advanced education as our mission. SSU provides the following: A flexible curriculum allows students to choose the department and course in which they will major in their second year. An intimate, family-like atmosphere by emphasizing education by friendly teaching staff to small groups. A richly satisfying life for international students through activities that encourage communication with Japanese students and the local community. An arrangement whereby Japanese students assist international students with their studies and pairs of students help each other with language study. Careful guidance for students seeking employment in Japanese companies (94.0% of international students find employment). Individual counseling for students wishing to enter graduate school has resulted in the gaining of places at famous universities for several students. A system that enables international students to consult with informed administrative staff whenever the need arises. Series of lectures by experts from the business world on 20 different practical themes. The School of Management aims to provide "extensive, in-depth learning" and "systematic and specialized knowledge of business management." For this reason, first-year students do not choose a department or course but concentrate on general education and school-wide subjects. Students separate into the Department of Management, the Department of Sports Management, or the Department of Management Psychology from their second year to gain specialized knowledge. The School of Management aims to provide "extensive, in-depth learning" and "systematic and specialized knowledge of business management." For this reason, first-year students do not choose a department or course but concentrate on general education and school-wide subjects. The International Center assists international students by making housing arrangements, offering consultations relating to university study or visa application procedures. It also provides a range of other services, including making information available on scholarships and intercultural activities. All students who will reside in Japan for a year or more must have health insurance coverage under the National Health Insurance scheme. National Health Insurance is a health insurance scheme that reduces the cost to individuals who have to go into hospital, or become sick or suffer an injury. It is necessary to pay a monthly premium. To make international students' campus life more enjoyable and fruitful, we encourage them to join on- and off-campus cultural and social activities promoted by the International Center. These include events put on by local city organizations, volunteer groups, international exchange organizations, and activities at local elementary/junior/senior high schools. Also, there are many student club activities on our two campuses. Joining these activities helps improve Japanese language skills and make friends with our Japanese students.
      2. Our university is located in the city of Kashiwazaki, almost in the middle of Niigata Prefecture. Flanked by the mountains and the sea, Kashiwazaki is a scenic city of about 90,000 people. The area has long flourished as a transport hub, being both a post-station town on the Hokkoku Road and a port of call for coastal trading ships. This convenient location has helped the Ushijima cloth market flourish, developing a prosperous economy and traditional culture. During Japan's early modernization, the discovery of oil in Kashiwazaki brought numerous oil companies to the region, further encouraging the machinery and metal industry's growth, forming the foundations of its current industry. The predecessor to Niigata Sangyo University, Kashiwazaki Vocational College, was opened on June 2, 1947. This was just two months after the Fundamental Law of Education came into force in Japan. Our founder, Kyohei Shimojo, founded the college based on his sense of mission, a conviction that the reconstruction and development of postwar Japan and the construction of a peaceful, happy society depended on young people's education. He called this educational philosophy "the establishment of the independent self." This founding spirit and principle have been passed on to Niigata Sangyo University and are reflected in the stated purpose of our founding: "The ultimate goal of education is to establish the self as independent through the cultivation of human nature, and the development of the ability to contribute creatively to society with the sensibility of the new era. Educational Goals: To foster independent people who can learn by themselves, think by themselves, and act by themselves. To foster people who can master academia's basics, gain a broad education, and respond independently to the rapidly-changing society. Through practical education, to foster people who can contribute to local society through an awareness of themselves as society members. The Graduate School of Niigata Sangyo University provides opportunities for advanced study and research to foster people who will play leading roles in the development of regional society, including leading industrialists in the local area, local authority officials, and leading teachers in secondary education. We also provide opportunities for retraining adults active in a range of different fields within society and lifelong learning for the local community. We are a practical-oriented graduate school that, through our two-year courses, provides an education that contributes to improving the ability to judge situations, the ability to make decisions, and the ability to manage that are required of those people who will take leading roles in the region. We have several different social events throughout the year to encourage interaction between international students, Japanese students, and residents, including the Welcome Party, the Ball Games, the Christmas Party, and the Speech Contest and food stalls at the University Festival. Extracurricular activities for international students include the Arts and Culture Club for learning Japanese culture, the Mongolian Wrestling Club, and the Sino-Japanese Communication Circle.
      3. Kyushu Sangyo University aspires to develop practicality-oriented and passionate human resources with a rich sense of humanity to meet industrial circles' expectations. Promotion of self-awareness as a citizen and the spirit of the middle path/Establishment of practicality-oriented academic traditions As modern society is becoming increasingly diversified and interdependent due to rapid internationalization and computerization, the international community has begun to seek a new world order based on respect for humanity and the global environment. The advance of information and telecommunication technology is creating an information-intensive society where the world can be connected instantly through communication networks, necessitating the rebuilding of systems in science, politics, the economy, and all other areas. Kyushu Sangyo University (KSU) declares as its philosophy that it promotes self-awareness as a citizen and the spirit of the middle path and establishes practicality-oriented academic traditions. In contrast, KSU aspires to foster human resources that can take leadership in society with a broad perspective, unbound spirit, and keen judgment. This philosophy is essential to realize our founding ideal -the unification of industry and academia - which we pursue in our firm belief that industry and academia must be unified to interactively work like two wheels of a vehicle to meet the times' societal needs. Based on this philosophy and ideal, we aim to realize education, focusing on the following: Develop students' creativity, and encourage them to learn both theory and its practical application in a balanced way. Promote students' understanding of diversified cultures around the world and Japanese culture, and develop their sensitivity to interact with each culture. Please pay attention to the Asia-Pacific region as a whole by taking advantage of our location in Kyushu. Today, enterprises in all areas demand independent and productive individuals who do more than wait for the future to arrive. Kyushu Sangyo University believes in the importance of taking action and putting ideas into practice. It is a place of learning and growth, where students can contribute practically to our society. Thinking outside the lines. Having the desire to make it real. These are the things that matter most. "Shape your dreams. Shape your future" This new slogan represents Kyushu Sangyo University's continued expertise in a variety of educational fields as well as its ability to meet the rapidly changing needs of our society. As relationships with Asia and other nations worldwide are becoming increasingly closer, the role of KSU's international exchange programs is also becoming increasingly important. Since its opening in April 1999 to deal with globalization, the Center for International Affairs has been the university's primary organization for promoting a wide range of international exchange activities, including receiving international students, administration of exchange student programs, and exchange agreements with overseas universities. KSU, where many international students are studying, offers opportunities to experience cross-cultural interaction daily, especially with exchange partner universities. KSU is actively involved in various activities, such as academic student exchange programs, friendship exchanges among students, and cultural and sports exchanges. Through KSU's annual overseas training program, many students visit private enterprises, universities, and museums throughout Europe, the U.S., and Southeast Asia every year, broadening their international perspectives.
      4. KSU is a modern university founded in 1965, which holds the principles that individuals should have a working knowledge and appreciation of other cultures and understand and deal with ever-changing domestic and international affairs. The symbol of KSU is Sagittarius's constellation, which represents the combination of bravery and adventure, reflecting the will of the university to see its students gowned in the skills and spirit required to be useful members of the local and international community. Kyoto Sangyo University is located in Kyoto City, in an area filled with Japan's beautiful nature. Kyoto is a city where traditional and advanced academic studies coexist to produce outstanding talent, unique industries, and global firms. Kyoto is a one-of-a-kind, innovative city. Education takes place in this inspiring setting to develop talented individuals capable of working in Japan or on an international stage. Based on our founding principles and educational ideals, learning takes place that emphasizes strong self-discipline, rich creativity, and unfaltering social responsibility. The school's duty toward our students is to help students develop good character and the capacity to make a unique contribution to the world by setting high goals that take into account the world's growing complexity. KSU has set up a comprehensive university education system that gives students the chance to discover academic synergies and make the best use of them to pursue broad-based, in-depth technical knowledge and advanced skills in education and research directly related to the world we live in. Ever since its establishment, as stated in the founding principles, KSU's educational ideals have consistently committed the university to foster graduates capable of rigorously maintaining self-discipline, are richly creative, and can take on active roles whether at home in Japan or overseas without neglecting their social responsibilities. In realizing our educational ideals, KSU students must fully grasp Japanese culture's distinctive features and historic significance. Furthermore, our students need to be well-versed in the world's civilizations and cultures to acquire an in-depth understanding and a global perspective. KSU has been proactively adapting to the rapidly changing contexts of internationalization and the information society. We strive to perfect the formation of well-balanced curricula that foster internationally-minded graduates who will actively engage in the globalized world. In an attempt to resolve the crucial global issues of today brought on by advances in science and technology, as well as culture and civilization, KSU makes the most of its advantages as a single-campus university by providing comprehensive and systematic curricula which seek to break down the barriers between different fields of study through the general and specialized education offered at our undergraduate faculties, as well as in the outstanding specialized education of our graduate schools. KSU emphasizes broad liberal arts education and specialized education fostering graduates who can contribute to the international community. Furthermore, following the founding principles, we continue to encourage our graduates of rich human nature and high ethical values.
