  1. The Academic Bridge Program (ABP), a center of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science, and Community Development, is a premier pre-university program established for high school graduates from Qatar and other countries in the region. The ABP is located in the architecturally stunning LAS (Liberal Arts and Sciences) building on Qatar's campus of Education City. Since our program was established in 2001, more than 2,500 students (mostly Qatari high school graduates and students from over 30 other countries) have graduated from our program. Many have enrolled at one of the universities in Education City, at Qatar University, or universities in the U.S. or the U.K. Over 90% of our graduates are admitted to university each year. The school typically seeks teachers with at least a master's degree and a minimum of five years of experience. This year, however, the average teacher's experience is closer to 15 years, and several of the senior teachers and administrators have as many as 30-40 years of experience. Additionally, five of the senior staff have earned doctoral degrees. Some of this year's faculty members have been college professors or instructors, and many have taught in several countries before coming to Qatar. This year's faculty and staff have been recruited from hundreds of applicants. They collectively represent 20 nations (United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, India, Pakistan, Jordan, Romania, Lebanon, The Philippines, Poland, Switzerland, Egypt, Tunisia, Sudan, France, India, and 11 faculty members from Qatar). The faculty has been selected for their subject matter expertise, educational qualifications, enthusiasm, previous success in teaching, and their commitment to providing each student with the maximum opportunity for learning and success. The Academic Bridge Program of Qatar Foundation aims to be the pre-eminent Post-Secondary Preparatory Program in Qatar and the Gulf Region and equip specially selected, top-caliber secondary school graduates for admission to and success in degree programs at the universities at Qatar Foundation and other English-language world-class universities. The mission of the Academic Bridge Program is to provide high school graduates in Qatar with the academic and personal skills for success in reputable English language universities around the world, with particular emphasis on preparing students for the universities in Qatar Foundation's Education City. Since its launch in 2001, the Academic Bridge Program (ABP) has graduated more than 2,500 students, 90% of whom have gone on to study at universities here in Qatar or abroad. You can find ABP graduates studying in the U.K., the US, Canada, Europe, and the Middle East. A large number of our students are studying in – or have graduated from – Qatar Foundation's partner universities. The ABP helps its students get admitted to English-speaking universities and to be successful in their future studies. The ABP academic program focused on building the skills needed to succeed in university. We offer a range of supportive services that pave the way for college success. Mini-courses in IELTS and ACT/SAT help boost test scores. In contrast, college counseling services help students understand the complex college application process and write compelling college admissions essays. As a result, over 90% of ABP graduates are admitted to universities each year.
