Faith Lutheran College first opened in 1999 with 40 students in Years 8 and 9 in Laidley's temporary premises before moving to our present location in October 2000. The College now has over 700 students in Years 7-12, and our campus continues to be developed to respond to our students' requirements and comfort. We are looking forward to celebrating our 20th Anniversary in 2019 with several special events. Christian beliefs and values are the basis of our ethos. Our school culture, where there are laughter, happiness, and genuine joy, where morale is high, and self-esteem is boosted by praise, support, and care, provides a positive, energetic and vibrant learning environment. The College has a modern unitized curriculum structure with a more excellent choice of elective subjects at Years 9 and 10 than most other schools. We offer our senior students alternative career opportunities through School-Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships. We believe in building good relationships between staff and students and between students, so we have a well-established pastoral care program. In conjunction with the individual-focused pastoral care program, the College has a culture of strong but caring discipline. We believe in giving students as many opportunities as possible to discover and develop their talents, not only academically but also in cultural and sporting activities. We believe in the importance of keeping up with modern technology, and so all of our students have access to mobile devices, laptops, and the internet. We believe that innovative excursions, camps, overseas trips, service trips, and work experience challenge students to understand how the theory of classroom studies is put into practice in the outside world, to develop a sense of community, teamwork, and leadership, and to improve their skills in various activities. We believe education is a partnership between parents and the College. At Faith, we pride ourselves on ensuring there are extensive opportunities for all students through a wide variety of support and co-curricular activities. Our Learning Enrichment program is based on the unique and personalized needs of the individual. It provides a service to students and parents who require additional encouragement and varied targeted learning opportunities. The College also has a strong academic program, and we perform exceptionally well in academic results, debating public speaking, and science challenges at District, National, and State levels.
