Oswestry School is an independent, co-educational day and boarding school for pupils between the ages of 4 and 18. Founded in 1407, it is one of the oldest non-denominational schools in the country and stands on the edge of the attractive market town of Oswestry, in Shropshire, on the border of England and Wales. It is set in 50 acres of its grounds and boasts some of the most beautiful countrysides in Britain on its doorstep. Historical it may be, with many traditional virtues encouraged, but Oswestry is also a warm, caring, and progressive school that constantly evolves with the times. Oswestry School is a small, independent, co-educational boarding and day school in Shropshire. We strive to educate the whole child with an emphasis on their intellectual, spiritual, and physical development. Oswestry School places a very high emphasis on good manners and personal integrity we are not ashamed of our traditional approach to pastoral care and we enjoy close relationships between pupils and staff. Our aim is for our pupils to enjoy their education and to learn in a happy environment. Oswestry School is a very tight-knit community that celebrates the individual and aims to encourage all pupils to reach their potential. We are extremely proud of the 360° education we provide, achieving excellent academic results and offering a wide variety of sports to suit everyone, with first-class coaching and facilities provided. The school enjoys a proud tradition of music and drama, and art has always been a popular pastime for Oswestrians with exhibitions held each year. There is an active Adventure Education Department including The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme and the Combined Cadet Force which offer opportunities to develop leadership skills, self-reliance, and responsibility. A wealth of activities, trips, and expeditions play a central role in broadening our pupils’ experience.
