- Nonsuch Primary School is a small friendly school situated in the heart of Stoneleigh on the boundaries of Sutton and Surrey. We are a community school for children aged between 3 to 11 years. The school has a nursery that provides free nursery education for all 3 and 4-year-olds. "Nonsuch is a fun, safe, and creative school that makes hard work fun. We laugh, learn and persevere. We are determined to follow our dreams and be the best we can." Our school vision statement was written by the children of Nonsuch Primary School together with the staff, parents, and governors of our school. The school community has worked together to create our school values. We believe these values help us to work together for the best of everyone in our school community. They determine our distinctiveness. They communicate what is important. They influence our behaviors. They inspire our involvement in school life. Through many aspects of school life, including our school values, we teach the children about the British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect for and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs and for those without faith. Learning is at the center of all we do at Nonsuch. Whether the children are pushing boundaries in their learning in the classroom, achieving excellence on the sports field, searching for creepy crawlies in the garden, or showcasing their talent in a musical performance, we are always striving to give all children the best learning opportunities possible. At Nonsuch, whatever your learning style or level of understanding, we work tirelessly to cater for you. Lesson organization varies according to the subject or topic being taught. During the week children take part in whole class, group and individual work. Our staff is experts in deciding upon the most effective teaching strategies for the children in their class to achieve the objectives of the lesson. These might be in the classroom or somewhere else entirely, whether on the school premises or otherwise. Children's understanding and skill development are continually assessed by the class teacher. This may be done through written work, drawing, speaking, observation, play, and discussion. These formative (informal) assessments help the teachers to plan follow-up, extension, or consolidation activities for the children.
