Nishikyushu University was founded in 1968, following Nagahara Academy’s current to provide curriculum focusing on health and welfare. We have promoted special education and research and have developed as the only 4-year private University in Saga Prefecture. Inherited from the time of its original foundation, the spirit of reaching out to disadvantaged people exists in the current faculties and departments. Modern society seeks individuals capable of thinking for themselves and creating things from nothing. Practice, exercises, interaction with the community and other educational experiences will be excellent textbooks for students. Students may face situations that may cause a loss of motivation. Since establishment, we have consistently pursued the most critical issue of humanity, health, and welfare, as our core research proposition. Unlike other universities that expand their academic fields, we have maintained our foothold in this specific and pure field. These are the necessary conditions required to become professionals in these fields. Based on this fundamental thinking, the University seeks applicants who aim at professional knowledge and certifications and those who wish to cultivate their sense of humanity and strong will to contribute to society actively. We accept students with the ambition to share our founding spirit of “Asunaro (A positive attitude promoting the achievement of aspirations),” and who will walk with us on the path to happiness for all people and create a pleasant society for all people.
