The Haute École de Namur-Liège-Luxembourg was born from the merging of two famous institutions: the Haute École de Namur and the Haute École Blaise Pascal. The Haute École de Namur-Liège-Luxembourg counts about 5500 students working on eleven campuses in the provinces of Namur, Liège, and Luxembourg. They offer a nearly complete range of training in three years (bachelor) and several years of specialization, a Master in Social Management Engineering, a Master in Computer System Architecture, and a Master in Industrial Engineering. The Haute École de Namur-Liège-Luxembourg trains field practitioners. That means the studies we offer are meant for students motivated by specific training and concrete action. Bachelor studies in an Haute École or university both last three years. However, they vary quite a lot, fundamentally. Bachelor studies offered at university are called “transition” they help provide access to further years called “master.” They do not offer direct access to a job. Bachelor studies offered in an Haute École, among them the Haute École de Namur-Liège Luxembourg, are called “professionalizing”: they offer full degrees giving direct access to professional life. Moreover, the Haute École de Namur-Liège-Luxembourg organizes three Masters, all of them handling together theory and practice: the Master in Social Management Engineering, the Master in Computer System Architecture, and the Master in Industrial Engineering. On each campus of the Haute École, many services are at your disposal: libraries, computer and multimedia rooms, cafeterias… There are also very regular sport or cultural activities, visits and study trips, lectures. In its constant research of opportunities to offer to its students, the Haute École de Namur Liège-Luxembourg is turned to Europe and the other continents. In the European Lifelong Learning Programme, our students can spend academic time studying or placement abroad in one of the many partner-universities. They can also choose the other Communities inside Belgium. It is a unique opportunity to discover a new way of learning and approach other cultures and ways of life. Moreover, there are opportunities for our young graduates to follow a master abroad after their bachelor studies. The training for Social Worker at HENALLUX is both polyvalent and varied. It opens to several social jobs and many professional sectors: polyvalent social relief, youth welfare, socio-cultural animation, life-long education, socio-professional integration, the socio-medical field, penitentiary system, the psycho-pedagogical field, the integration of elderly or disabled people, of immigrants, international cooperation, defense of rights.
