- Mowlem is a happy, safe, and successful place of learning and we want to build a long and rewarding relationship with you. We believe we can only do our very best when we all work together in genuine partnership with you and the wider community. Our aim is that children at Mowlem Primary School will become confident, lifelong learners. We can only do this successfully if we work together and have a positive partnership between home and school. Mowlem Primary School is committed to serving its community. It recognizes the multi-cultural, multi-faith, and ever-changing nature of the United Kingdom. To create and enforce a clear and rigorous expectation on all schools to promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs. Through our implicit and explicit curriculum (particularly through our behavior policy, assemblies, circle time, and through our broad and balanced curriculum, the subjects of PSHE, RE, Modern Foreign Languages and Literacy) we teach our pupils about democracy, personal and civic responsibility, rules and laws, the monarchy, equality, values and virtues, environmental awareness and respectful understanding of other faiths and ethnic cultures. We actively promote values, virtues, and ethics that shape our pupils' character and moral perspective. Our staff model to our pupils the values through their behavior and teach the values implicitly through every aspect of the curriculum, ensuring equality and excellence for all pupils. Mowlem Primary School seeks to foster a warm, welcoming, and respectful environment, which allows us to question and challenge discrimination and inequality, resolve conflicts peacefully, and work and learn free from harassment and violence. We recognize that there are similarities and differences between individuals and groups but we will strive to ensure that our differences do not become barriers to participation, access, and learning and to create inclusive processes and practices, where the varying needs of individuals and groups are identified and met. We therefore cannot achieve equality for all by treating everyone the same.
