At Molloy College, students gain the knowledge, skills, and self-confidence they need to make a difference in their lives and our fast-paced, ever-changing world. A private, Long Island college, Molloy provides a value-centered, multidimensional education with more than 50 quality academic undergraduate and graduate degree programs grounded in the Catholic faith, ideals of truth, and respect for every individual's dignity and worth. Our faculty are accomplished, yet approachable, leading small classes on Long Island where students are encouraged to think critically and explore creatively. By combining academic excellence and leadership strengths with personal, compassionate mentoring, we bring out the best in every student. Located less than an hour from Manhattan, Molloy is one of the most affordable private colleges on Long Island. Money magazine recently ranked Molloy College, one of the Nation's top-three value colleges for the second consecutive year. The recognition comes as part of the magazine's annual college rankings, which acknowledge the best of the country's higher education institutions in a multitude of categories. We were also ranked by U.S. News & World Report as one of the top colleges in the Northeast, higher than any other Long Island college in our category. With approximately 5,069 undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students, Molloy is large enough to offer students an academically-challenging, high-quality educational experience. At the same time, the College is small enough to provide the personal attention that enhances every student's intellectual, ethical, spiritual, and social development. New facilities, including two residence halls, a student center, and a performing arts theatre, enhance the student experience. With our recently-expanded international education program, over 60 clubs and honor societies, ample service opportunities, internships, and NCAA Division II sports teams, students at Molloy College in New York have abundant opportunities to explore new interests, pursue athletics like lacrosse, basketball, baseball, and soccer and enrich the local community, here, on Long Island. . . and around the globe. Molloy College, an independent, Catholic college rooted in the Dominican tradition of study, spirituality, service, and community, is committed to academic excellence with respect for each person. Through transformative education, Molloy promotes a lifelong search for truth and the development of ethical leadership. At Molloy College, we teach self-reliance in a supportive environment. Our academic services are designed to help students improve their studying skills and course content understanding, develop writing abilities, receive assistance for particular challenges and become successful college scholars. The areas that comprise academic services are designed to help students interpret academic policies and procedures, mediate faculty-student misunderstandings, and provide a level playing field for those with challenges. Overall, Academic Services is the primary student resource for advice about any academic-related issue. Molloy College is dedicated to conducting research that makes a higher-order contribution to society at large, not only in terms of pure knowledge but for what it accomplishes in its outcomes. It is a way for the Molloy community to give back and make a difference. Faculty can receive assistance in obtaining external funding to advance their research activities, creating a campus culture that values and supports research. Acceptance of external funding imposes specific legal obligations on the College about the use, management, and accountability of funds. A comprehensive grants management process is in place to ensure that these obligations are met. We are so proud of the physical transformation Molloy College has gone through in a few short years. We now have two student residence halls - Fitzgerald Hall, which houses 156 students, and Maria Regina, which houses 100 students. The residence halls have had a positive impact on both the atmosphere and culture on campus. Serving as the hub of our beautiful campus is the Public Square, a new state-of-the-art student center that offers students a place to jump on the internet, grab a bite to eat, shop in the bookstore, or kick back with friends. The Public Square is also home to the Molloy College Art Gallery, the Career Development Center, and the Office of International Education. Madison Theatre also makes its home in the Public Square. The 550 seat theatre hosts inspiring artistic performances, dance, music, and theatre productions. Our campus facilities are impressive and stately yet contemporary. The main buildings on campus are conveniently located near each other so that walking from class to class is done with ease, regardless of the weather. We have also expanded our presence in Suffolk County with an off-campus site in East Farmingdale and our Center for Environmental Research and Coastal Oceans Monitoring (CARICOM) located in the West Sayville boat basin. Whether you study on the Rockville Centre campus or the East Farmingdale Suffolk Center, with a student-teacher ratio of 10:1, you are assured of individualized attention. No matter what changes are planned for the future, our traditional values remain in place. We inspire learning with small classes, challenging curriculum, and a nurturing environment. Everything we do is enhanced by the Dominican tradition of study, spirituality, service, and community. View full university
