Mid-Atlantic Christian University (MACU) is an environment that will provide lifelong friends, stretch students in numerous ways, and develop memories that students will carry with them forever. Our mission is to impact the world by transforming ordinary people into extraordinary Christian leaders. We recognize that this training occurs in the classroom as well as in everyday living. The Student Life Office exists to provide a living and learning environment that will encourage students to grow spiritually, intellectually, socially, and physically. The staff desires to assist students with their various needs beginning at New Student Orientation and lasting throughout their academic career. Outside of the classroom, there are several activities available to our students. Various social events are planned under the Student Life Staff's supervision, assisted by the Student Life Committee. Our current collegiate athletic teams are men's and women's basketball, women's volleyball, and golf with other intramural sports including flag football, soccer, bowling, and open gyms with various activities. There are numerous opportunities for community service and ministry, as well. This is an exciting time at Mid-Atlantic Christian University (MACU) as we seek to train extraordinary leaders for service in the Kingdom. We have programs of study designed for someone who desires to be involved in vocational ministry. We also have a growing list of programs for someone who desires to serve God in a non-traditional ministry setting. MACU's academic program's heart and passion are the four-year Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees. Realizing that some students have academic goals beyond MACU, we also offer an associate degree that can be completed in 2 years and a certificate in Family Life Education that can be completed in approximately two years. The four-year degree programs, the B.A. and the B.S. require a minimum of 120 semester hours of credit. The principal difference between the B.A. and the B.S. degrees is that the B.A. requires studying a foreign language. In keeping with the mission of MACU, every four-year degree program in the School of Undergraduate Studies requires a major in Bible and Theology. Dependent upon the study program, students will either complete a 50-hour Biblical Exposition major or a 30-hour Biblical Studies major. In the School of Professional Studies, every degree program requires at least a minor in Biblical Studies. For the B.A. and the B.S. degrees, at least twenty-five percent (25%) of the required semester hours must be taken at MACU. Nearly all of the baccalaureate degree programs require a student to complete an internship requirement. Working with a local congregation, organization, or institution, the student will learn firsthand with a field mentor and faculty advisor's guidance.
