Welcome to Mount Marty College! For 80 years, we have focused on preparing students for a contemporary world of work, service to the human community, and personal growth. With the inspiration that the Sisters provide, the faculty and staff of Mount Marty College create a sense of wonder for those who study and work here. Mount Marty College is a small, Catholic liberal arts college in Southeast South Dakota. Based in Yankton, a historic city of 15,000 people, Mount Marty believes that the Benedictine values of community, hospitality, lifelong learning, awareness of God, and service are fundamental to students' daily lives, faculty, and staff. Our academic advisors will help you decide how to pick a degree. A Mount Marty education will push you to the limit (in the right way). Mount Marty teaches you to think beyond the right answer so that you find fresh ways to approach problems. You will learn directly from and collaborate with dedicated professors who want to make sure you get the most out of each class. You may be surprised to find that attending a private Catholic college can be just as affordable as attending a public university. The value of a private college is more than just what it costs to attend that college. You'll be part of a small campus community, and you'll have more opportunities for real-world experiences, including travel and internships, so you're well-prepared for your career. Suppose you are interested in a career that allows you to lead, serve others, and make an impact in your future. In that case, you will find our programs, which include nursing, teacher education, recreation management, criminal justice, and business administration, a perfect fit. You'll be able to balance your career-ready degree with a liberal arts education that gives you the best of both worlds. Financial aid includes any monetary resources (other than your family's) that help offset the cost education. The atypic costal financial aid package includes scholarships, grants, loans, and work-study. Scholarships are awarded based on your academic performance or extracurricular activities. Private scholarships are available through civic and fraternal organizations, and several are awarded through Mount Marty. Moreover, they need a repayment. We are ever-thankful to alumni and friends who make such gifts possible. Loans provide funding that you must repay. The repayment of most federal loans can be deferred, at least on a half-time basis, while you attend college. Mount Marty College has something unique to offer — a community of people who care about each other's intellectual, physical, social, and spiritual growth. There are countless ways for you to become a part of this community. Our staff and faculty believe that our four core values help shape each student who walks our campus.
