  1. It is our pleasure and privilege to welcome you to our school, Lycée International de Londres Winston Churchill. In keeping with the tradition of French educational rigor, we have high expectations for our students and use modern pedagogical approaches to engage each child encouraging them to reach their full potential. In keeping with the tradition of French educational rigor, we have high expectations for our students and use modern pedagogical approaches to engage each child encouraging them to reach their full potential. The French national curriculum provides the core of our bilingual international program. Our students have the opportunity to sit for the French Baccalaureate in the Sciences, Social Sciences, or Literature paths, with or without the International Option. Our beautiful five-acre campus includes all newly-refurbished and purpose-built buildings, outdoor sports pitches, a large gymnasium, a bright and spacious library, state-of-the-art science labs, a music room, and a drama studio. Excellence, Creativity, Integrity, Community, and Awareness are the cornerstones of our ethos and these values reflect our commitment to foster the development of the whole child. It is a great honor to be entrusted with the mission to build and lead, with your support, such a vibrant community of learners. "Through a rigorous, bilingual program and innovative methods, we educate pupils to become responsible, creative, and principled global citizens. We teach them to think critically and act ethically, to form and express their own opinions and respect those of others, to define their own life goals and to make sense of and embrace change." The primary objective of the entire Lycée International Winston Churchill's teaching community is to contribute to the intellectual development and personal fulfillment of every student. We develop the intellect and character of our pupils to enable them to take on the challenges of the world. Capable of thinking for themselves and expressing their opinions with confidence, our students thrive in a bilingual and international environment, underpinned by excellence and a dynamic flow of pedagogical innovation. Integrity, courage, and respect are the core values we encourage them to develop, with the aim, ultimately, that they become true global citizens. Each student is entitled to the best possible education according to his or her needs, to achieve excellence in both intellectual and social endeavors. We believe that learning should be a fulfilling experience, and that school should be a place fostering joy, creative thinking, and openness. Our school encourages individual and collective initiatives. We want our children to think positively about themselves and to recognize and value their talents and those of others. It is our firm belief that learning can take multiple forms, and therefore be enhanced by diverse approaches as well as the responsible use of technology. We encourage our teachers to think and teach creatively, to use a variety of methods from lectures to project-based, hands-on sessions, from books to digital resources and blended learning. We expect them to develop innovative lesson plans to help each student discover his or her learning style, talents, and potential. We encourage them to discover and understand the digital world and make the best use of it. We believe that honesty is of paramount importance in character building. We encourage students to embrace challenges and welcome hurdles in every part of their life. We ask them to own their mistakes and learn from them. We encourage teamwork and foster a sense of community and solidarity within and outside the school, from positive collaboration and healthy competition in the classroom to volunteering and community involvement both locally and globally. We look forward to sincere parental support and collaboration, which in turn we offer to families. We welcome students, families, and employees from all backgrounds and cultures. We respect and celebrate their identity, lifestyles, preferences, and individual differences. We expect every member of our community, children, and adults, to do the same. Starting in Year 7 this program offers a new possibility to English speakers to join the school. Based on content and methods similar to our other program, the English International Programme is tailored to attract interest from local and international families who seek for their child a holistic approach to education: intellectual challenges and rigorous academics, as well as mindfulness and international focus. All subjects ( Science, Math, Humanities, Arts, etc) are taught in English, except French as a second language. Activities of service-learning and trips overseas are an integral part of this program. This program will lead to the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme* (IBDP) in Years 12 and 13. Across all levels, our ambition is to create an atmosphere where students and teachers share in the joy of learning!

  3. Situated just a stone’s throw away from the famous neighborhood of Camden Town, CFBL was founded in 2011 on the premises of the former Kingsway College. The Victorian building was entirely renovated and adapted to the purposes of a modern style of teaching. Our whole staff is happy to welcome 700 students and their families in such a beautiful setting. Safety, well-being, and eagerness to discover new things are at the heart of the philosophy of our « home of learning ». Trust is the core value of our educational project. Learning to become independent and open-minded is essential to our students’ development into well-rounded adults. Our teachings are in line with the curriculum established by the French Ministry for Education, but our aim remains, ever since the founding of our establishment, to give a fully bilingual education to all. Our students are encouraged to exchange, share, invent, and take initiatives in a multicultural and open environment. Throughout their studies, they acquire, in addition to academic knowledge, the human and social tools that will enable them to thrive in high school, and in their many future endeavors – whether personal or professional – throughout their lives. Our school is located in Camden, in central London, and provides students with an excellent education, underpinned by a special commitment to language learning and digital culture. Our students are nurtured in a welcoming environment where they can discover the joys of learning, supported by attentive teaching staff whose approach is based on mutual trust and respect. Our students are encouraged to interact, be creative and take initiatives in our multicultural environment, in which they can acquire academic knowledge and also develop the human, relational qualities which will guide them through their years at school and beyond. At the end of their schooling at CFBL, our students move on to a French lycée in London (mainly the Lycée International Winston Churchill, but also the Lycée Charles de Gaulle) or another school in France or overseas. Some students continue in the English educational system. CFBL’s mission is to provide students with the best of French educational culture while preparing them for life in the modern world by giving them a bilingual, multicultural education. We aim in particular to: Deliver a bilingual and bi-cultural education to French-speaking pupils. Foster academic excellence by following the French curriculum as set out by the French Éducation Nationale whilst at the same time realizing the full potential of each child. Give advice and help to pupils, as well as their families, to help them realize the best possible educational path. Promote the personal development of the pupils by offering them as wide a choice as possible of the group and individual activities within the fields of art, culture, and sport and to this end, to promote extra-curricular activities. Prepare pupils for their entry into the upper secondary section of the French Lycée or help pupils transfer into the English education system. Teach pupils to respect and embrace the richness and cultural diversity which CFBL offers.
