- Exciting times at Litchard Primary School. Following the amalgamation of the former infant and junior schools, the new primary school opened its doors in September 2009. Since then the school has received a very positive inspection and gained a major building grant of nearly £3m which has resulted in a new building linking both the former schools. The new building includes a new 60 place nursery, four new teaching areas, a large fully fitted community room, administration and reception areas, meeting rooms, and a revamped school hall. The swimming pool has also been upgraded and has been fitted with new changing facilities. The campus enjoys an extensive area including playing fields, nature reserves, study areas, and excellent facilities which cater for the full foundation and primary phase. Standards remain high. The school continues to perform well in comparison to similar schools locally and nationally. The results for 2012 for both key stages in English, Mathematics, and Science are well above the national averages. The school has a very strong sporting record with pupils excelling at local and national level in a range of activities. We are also proud of our numerous achievements and awards including the International School award 2010, Eco School 2nd Green Flag award, Investors in People, Basic Skills Agency Quality Mark, ICT quality mark, and most recently the Investors in Families award. We believe strongly in working in partnership and look forward to developing these partnerships with parents and the community.
