History of Lipetsk State Technical University started November 1, 1956, with the USSR Ministry of Higher Education Order on the opening evening faculty Tula Mechanical Institute (TMI) in Lipetsk. In the same year, 125 students started their studies on the job in two specialties: "Technology of mechanical engineering, machine tools and instruments" and "foundry machinery and technology." In the future, the University has been transformed into the evening department of the Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys based on the Lipetsk Metallurgical Plant. In 1966 he became an evening branch of MISA in 1972, organized by the Lipetsk Polytechnic Institute, which is May 26, 1994, transformed into the Lipetsk State Technical University. For more than half a century of Lipetsk State, Technical University remains the whole concept of development of the University, to focus its efforts on ensuring the quality of training of highly qualified Personnel and raise the profile of engineering education and science. Innovation and industrial orientation of the region call for the implementation of Lipetsk State Technical University as a multidisciplinary university that provides training to ensure economic growth and modernization, above all, metallurgical, machine-building, building cluster, and energy and economy. Science and Education of the University structure include three institutions: the Metallurgical Institute, Institute of Mechanical Engineering, Research Institute, as well as the eight departments: Physics and Technology, Transportation Engineering, Civil Engineering, Automation, and Computer Science, Economics, Humanities, and Social Sciences and law, correspondence and Preparatory Faculty. In Lipetsk State, Technical University offers a wide range of educational services of high quality: pre-university training in physics and mathematics school "Eureka," higher Education in 43 areas of undergraduate, six specialties, 30 master's programs, 36 postgraduate specialties, 55 programs of study by correspondence, 15 programs of additional professional Education and additional training, 16 programs of secondary vocational Education. Quality training provides highly qualified teaching staff, including 390 full-time qualified specialists, including 64 doctors of sciences, professors, 250 associate professors. Seventeen people, including university teachers, have the honorary title "Honored Worker of Science," "Honored Worker of Higher School," and 30 - "Honored Worker of Higher Professional Education of the Russian Federation." University today - one of the recognized higher education leaders of the Central Black Earth region. The successes of 2014-2015, the University. in educational and scientific activity marked by a gold medal "One hundred best universities in the country" spring 2015 Lipetsk State Technical University is included in the National Register "Leading educational institutions of Russia." Lipetsk State Technical University is also among the winners of the national contest of projects "Personnel for the regions. Lipetsk State Technical University programs such as "Sociology," "Management," "Thermal Engineering and Heat Engineering," "Metallurgy," "Construction," were among the best educational programs of innovative Russia. Lipetsk State Technical University took fifth place in the national ranking of the Russian Federation's higher education institutions in terms of demand for specialists by employers.
