  1. In 1976 Leighland Christian School commenced with just 36 students in Ulverstone. This year, there are 600 students from Kindergarten to Year 12, with campuses in Ulverstone (K - 12) and Burnie (K - 6). We are a well-established school community committed to Christian family values and providing a significant range of educational opportunities and experiences. Parents in Partnership (PIP) is the name given to our active Parent Group, which operates on both campuses. The PIP group collaborates with the school in as many areas as possible to enrich our children's' education. Fostering this vital partnership with parents and providing an environment of nurturing and caring for students is vital for the school, building a strong sense of community and ownership for everyone involved. Leighland Christian School runs a Pre Kinder program to help prepare children for school. This program caters to children who are starting Kindergarten the following year. Please call Burnie on 6430 9000 or Ulverstone on 6425 0999 or email us for further information. The school offers Kindergarten for three full days each week at Burnie and Ulverstone, with Playgroups active at both campuses throughout the School year. Join with other new parents and share the experience and excitement of your child's first year at school. Kindergarten students are to be four years of age by 1 January. Playgroup provides an essential stepping-stone for younger children to begin their educational journey. Years 11 and 12 are well established and provide continuity for students without the dislocation at the end of Year 10 to attend a larger college to complete their pre-tertiary studies with small class sizes and a range of subjects available expect to be encouraged and supported in your educational goals. Both Ulverstone and Burnie campuses have excellent facilities. Ulverstone campus offers a modern technology and science area, a spacious and well-equipped resource center. Both campuses provide opportunities for students to access computers and technology-based learning and music programs. These well-appointed schools help create a stable and positive environment for your child. We seek for our Mission Statement to inform all those in our community of the unified direction of what, how, and why we come together to educate in a Christ-centered school. Vision Statement is Leighland Christian School strives to be a loving christ-centered Community demonstrating a vibrant faith and commitment to God's Word.
