      1. Klaipeda State College is the third-largest university of applied sciences in Lithuania with a strong academic reputation. The initial target of KVK is ensuring of high quality of academic teaching and research facilities. KVK focuses on study programs that lead to a profession. The graduates of KVK gain a professional Bachelor's degree. The studies are practice-orientated students who can apply their knowledge in a real working environment successfully. The institution consists of three faculties: Business, Technologies, and Health Sciences. A variety of scientific research, as well as different projects and consulting activities, are executed here. Also, plenty of contracted research on a ground of technologies, biomedicine, physical, social, humanitarian, arts is administrated. Business Faculty offers study programs in Tourism Administration, Business Management, Finance, Accounting, Administration of Institutions, logistics Management, Wellness Service Management, and Pre-primary and Pre-school Pedagogy. Eight hundred ninety-nine students are studying there. Technologies Faculty provides programs in different technical professions such as Informatics, Informatics Engineering, Food Technology, Geodesy, Electrical, Automatic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction, Transport Logistics Engineering, and Automobile Transport Engineering. There are 1042 students on this Faculty. Students can choose General Practice Nursing, Physiotherapy, Dental Hygiene, Dental Assisting, Dietetics, Beauty Therapy, and Social Work for their studies in the Health Sciences Faculty. There are 1055 students here. On 1 September 2016, Rietavas Study Centre was established. Study programs of social and technical sciences are provided: electrical and automatic engineering, technical maintenance of automobile, geodesy, agribusiness technologies, informatics engineering, ornamental greenery, accounting, and business management. There are 194 students here. There are four business practical learning enterprises (BPLE) in KVK, where a Business Company's activity can be simulated. There are four typical departments: personnel, purchase, sales and marketing, finance, and accounting in a BPLE. Everything is "real" in a BPLE (financial documents, agreements, tax tariffs, applying legal acts, currency exchange rates, etc.). KVK is equipped with modern laboratories, libraries, and other fitments. Institution collaborates with about 200 educational institutions in different countries. It has an Erasmus University Charter and is an active participant in the ERASMUS+. Auditoriums and laboratories are equipped with modern computers, multimedia. All students can use libraries that are in every Faculty. They can also use individual rooms, e. g., for project writings. From 2003 library system ALEPH 500 was implemented, and there is an electronic library catalog as well as Science publications in the College's database. There is a virtual learning environment Moodle. Klaipeda State University of Applied Sciences is the 3rd College in Lithuania and the largest modern state higher educational institution. College graduates are granted with Degree of Professional Bachelor Qualification and Diploma of Higher Education. College cooperates with Lithuanian and foreign education and science institutions, including organizations representing employers. Klaipeda State University of Applied Sciences participates in international projects to benefit from the development, exchange, and transfer of knowledge with institutions from all over Europe. College commits itself to the Life Long Learning support, as staff and student exchange with our partner education institutions contribute to the exchange of international experience and expertise for Lithuanian and international students and staff.
      2. On 5 October 1990, Chairman of the Supreme Council (Reconstituent Seimas) Vytautas Landsbergis signed Decree No. 1-640 on the establishment of Klaipėda University as of 1 January 1991. Klaipėda University started its academic activities with three faculties (those of Marine Engineering, Pedagogy, and Humanities and Natural Sciences) and about 3,000 students. It celebrated its 25th anniversary with 4,500 students in the Faculties of Marine Engineering and Natural Sciences, Humanities and Education Sciences, Social and Health Sciences, as well as in the Arts Academy, the Institute of Continuous Studies, and the Institute of Baltic Region History and Archaeology. Over the 25 years, the University's academic staff has increased from 300 to nearly 700 teachers and researchers, including 59% PhDs and recognized artists. Currently, the University implements over 100 study programs in all three cycles, providing research and technological innovations-based contemporary knowledge which ensures advanced university education and high professional skills and develops an intelligent, responsible, and creative personality. Our Alma Mater has over 30,600 graduates whose ranks include PhDs, members of the Seimas and the Government, heads of major enterprises, engineers, teachers, soloists, and theatre professionals. Over 60 research and training labs, a botanical garden, a research vessel Mintis, a research and training sailboat Brabander, the yacht Odisėja, an Open Access Centre for Marine Research, a training theatre, a concert hall with excellent acoustics, and the Rieger Kloss organ, an Ecumenical Evangelical Chapel, library document funds with almost 500, 000 copies, and a publishing house provide for a critical infrastructure that enables the successful development of the international level artistic activities, fundamental and applied scientific research, experimental development activities in the fields of physical, biomedical, technological, social sciences, and the humanities. The University annually implements over 60 international and national research projects, collaborates with research and academic partners in Europe and other parts of the world, and takes part in international funds, programs, and networks. Arts are an integral part of the University's academic activity. The research conducted in the University is related to the history, culture, and part of East Prussia, Lithuania Minor (Prussian Lithuania), and the Klaipėda Region: it allows one to get to know the historical, linguistic, confessional, musical, and ethnical heritage and enables meaningful enhancement of its continuity opportunities. Klaipėda University was founded in a geographical area unique from the economic, cultural, and geopolitical aspects, i.e., on the Lithuanian seaside, boasting Lithuania's only port. At the national level, attempts are made to develop Klaipėda as a metropolitan center and increase Lithuania's international competitiveness as a maritime state. Since 2008, Klaipėda University implements the State Programme of an Integrated Research, Study, and Business Centre Marine Valley to develop the Lithuanian Maritime Sector. It thus consistently consolidates its leadership in the fields of marine sciences and technological innovations.
