      1. Education can transform people’s lives and at Kemnal Technology College I am determined that the students who attend our College will be given the very best opportunities to excel. I understand that choosing the right school for your child is one of the most important decisions you will make, which is why every single student is important to me. The college's purpose is twofold. We want all students to achieve academic success and we want all students to become well-rounded young men. Students can only achieve this if they feel happy and are provided with a caring environment in which the talents of different individuals are respected and encouraged to flourish. Our educational philosophy is focused on the character traits we want all our students to acquire before taking their place in the adult world. We want our students: To be ambitious for themselves. Dreams are achievable and goals can be reached by focusing on the present. To be considerate to others. Success comes through teamwork and recognition of other people's strengths. To be resilient. Learning is a voyage into the unknown and having the confidence to learn from these experiences. In summary, a great education is so much more than a narrow focus on examination results. We aim to support and inspire your child to be the very best they can be in every single way. Our educational philosophy is focused on the values we want all our students to acquire before taking their place in the adult world. This is why we strive for: Students who are ambitious for themselves. Dreams are achievable and goals can be reached by focusing on the present. Resilient students. Learning is a voyage into the unknown and students need to have the confidence to learn from these experiences. Students who are considerate to all. Success comes through teamwork and recognition of other people’s talents. The College’s purpose is twofold – we want all our students to achieve academic success and have access to a varied co-curricular syllabus for them to complete their educational journey. Students can only achieve this if they feel happy and are provided with a safe and caring environment in which the talents of different individuals are respected and encouraged to flourish. Staff have high levels of professionalism and work hard to ensure that every Kemnal student can shine. Following a recent Ofsted inspection, praise was given to the warm atmosphere in the College and inspectors noted that Kemnal students are polite, confident, and friendly young people who feel safe at the school. Over recent years, the demand for places at Kemnal has fallen which has meant that the College is currently undersubscribed. TKAT (The Kemnal Academies Trust -the Academy sponsor) with the Governors and Headteacher have considered different options for the future of the College and have investigated ways to increase pupil numbers. Attracting more pupils will avoid a reduction in funding going forward and allow further investment in facilities to enhance teaching and learning. At present, the current single-sex environment is not reflective of the school’s drive to build a more inclusive ethos, that pupils can make the best all-round progress (academic, physical, personal, social, and emotional) regardless of their age, gender, ethnicity, attainment, background or disability. College leaders at Kemnal and the Trust have a very clear educational philosophy that is focused on the values we want all our students to acquire before taking their place in the adult world. This is why we strive for an ambitious, resilient, and considerate community, where all pupils can achieve their potential. This can be best achieved in a mixed-gender school environment.
