Isleworth Town School has served many generations of families from the local community since it was opened in October 1910. We aim to make our school a place where children enjoy coming, where they are happy, work hard, learn and make good progress. Here at Isleworth Town, we continue to foster strong relationships with our local community. To achieve this we work in partnership with children, parents, staff, and governors. We encourage parents to become actively involved in the life of the school in many different ways. There are opportunities to assist in class, support work at home, attend curriculum and parents meetings and help at fundraising events. Governors are also very active in the life of the school and contribute considerable time and energy to ensure the school continually improves. The governing body is formed from a section of parents, members of the local community, and staff. All of these groups work together to provide the best possible education for all our children. We offer a broad curriculum that includes all National Curriculum subjects. There are many enrichment opportunities planned into the curriculum and the children make regular visits to galleries, theatres, museums, and sporting venues. We also have frequent visitors to school throughout the year and these enrich and enhance the learning experience within classrooms. The school uses the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) to support the delivery of the foundation subjects and some science topics. We believe that this gives our children the opportunity to put their learning into context and to make the links between different areas of the curriculum. At Isleworth Town Primary School the health, safety, and well-being of every child is our top priority. We expect staff, governors, and volunteers to share this commitment to safeguarding our pupils. We listen to our pupils and take seriously what they tell us. All school staff is trained in Child Protection, and children are made aware of the adults they can talk to if they have any concerns. Staff is trained to look out for signs of physical/emotional harm or neglect and are required to report these to the Designated Safeguarding Officer. View full school

Isleworth & Syon School has a fascinating and rich history, dating back as far as c. 1630. The school has been at the current Ridgeway Road site since 1939. Now, we enjoy an enviable reputation both in the local community and beyond, as a place of learning which consistently values and promotes academic excellence with top-class facilities. Our personalized approach to learning, a commitment to innovation, and a passion for teaching mean that we can maximize each student’s academic potential. We offer a broad and diverse program of extra-curricular activities to allow students to go beyond the classroom, enabling each of our boys to develop as individuals, discover new passions and interests, and contribute to the life of the school. We provide a rarely-offered choice, in that Isleworth & Syon is a non-denominational school for boys. An increasing body of educational research highlights the significant advantages of single-sex education up to the age of sixteen, especially for boys. This is why our students consistently out-perform boys taught in mixed settings. In the local area, we are a lead school for physical education and sport, working extensively with Hounslow’s primary schools through both the Sport Impact and Sports Leader programs. With the highest achieving science faculty in the local area, we have added science as our second focus area as we further develop this specialism. We believe that high achievement is possible only when students feel that they are recognized and valued as individuals, and when they understand how they are expected to behave. In school, there is an atmosphere of care and concern for each student. There is also a clear framework of firm but fair discipline, with each student, made completely clear of the school’s expectations both inside and outside the classroom. Isleworth & Syon’s main ethos is to be ‘outstanding in every respect through the constant drive for excellence across the school. Our core drive is to ensure that the school provides outstanding education and excellent opportunities for all local boys, and for the girls who join our Sixth Form. We have a strong commitment to the pursuit of learning, not purely for the attainment of formal qualifications but also to see our students grow as individuals into mature, considerate and confident young men and women. At Isleworth & Syon, children with learning difficulties are given extra support by staff who are experienced in helping students with special educational needs. Members of the Learning Support Teamwork with subject teachers to develop a range of teaching strategies and resources for use in the classroom. They also support individual students in and out of the classroom. This support team also assists those bilingual learners whose first language is not English. Support is provided both in the classroom and, when necessary, through withdrawal from normal timetabled lessons.
