Once here, they walk onto a picturesque campus with dorms, charming classrooms, practice rooms, and studios, all surrounded by a beautiful wooded terrain. Idyllwild Arts is home to children exploring art, curious pre-teens who are makers of art and music, teenagers bursting forth as emerging artists. These professional artists come to share and hone their talent and develop new skills, and the novice who learns more in one week, one class, or one year than he or she ever thought possible. For over seventy years, people have been coming to this beautiful and secluded campus in Idyllwild to experience the arts. The Summer Program and Arts Academy attracts students from more than thirty countries and three continents who make up this one-of-a-kind learning environment. Idyllwild Arts Academy is lauded for a college-preparatory program that prepares students to enter the most competitive colleges, universities, and conservatories worldwide. Such a unique education ensures that our graduates become professional artists, innovative thinkers, and industry leaders. We recognize art as an essential solution to global challenges. The Idyllwild Arts Academy is the country’s premier and internationally-acclaimed residential arts high school (9th-12th PG) (September through May), which provides pre-professional training in the arts and a comprehensive college preparatory curriculum to a diverse student body of gifted young artists. Idyllwild Arts Academy’s 300 students hail from more than 30 countries and pursue artistic excellence in Music, Theatre, Dance, Visual Art, Creative Writing, Film & Digital Media, InterArts, and Fashion Design.
