- Hillyfield is a seven-form entry school for children aged 2 to 11 years old at present there are 1200 children on roll and the school will continue to grow over the next three years to reach its full capacity of 1600 children. The school is split over two sites: Hollyfield on the Hill and Hillyfield at the Park. One of our core values is “Creating a sense of belonging”. We ensure that every child is known and loved as an individual and cared for from the moment they enter the school gates. Our vision for our pupils is clear. We believe that every child who attends our school has their brilliance and it is our responsibility and privilege to enable them to find and develop their talent. We believe that every child will be academically equipped to succeed at Hillyfield, secondary school, and beyond. At Hillyfield, we take pride in giving our children a transformative education. The school and its community are united by the desire to nurture young people who will go on to make positive contributions and lead happy lives. High expectations in learning, behavior, and respect for each other underpin everything we do. Our rich and varied curriculum enables the children at Hillyfield to access memorable and life-changing opportunities. Our talented staff members strive to create independent, articulate thinkers and learners who have the confidence to achieve their ambitions this drives us to aim for excellence every day. Our school is built on the belief that every child has brilliance, something about them which is special and unique. Working with parents, it is our responsibility as a school to make sure each child’s brilliance is nurtured and developed so that every child feels valued and successful. The children understand that “brilliance” can take many forms: we have children at Hillyfield who are linguists, great writers, exciting performers, talented athletes, exceptionally empathetic, innovators, devoted friends…the list goes on. We want Hillyfield children to leave our school as confident readers, writers, and mathematicians. But through the broad and rich curriculum, we offer them, access to specialist teachers and through the use of the Habits of Mind, we also want children to be able to articulate what their brilliance is and be proud of themselves.
