- Welcome to Havelock Primary School, Success. Nothing less. We believe that children learn best if they feel valued and part of a supportive community. Then they can be challenged to take risks in their learning and make rapid progress. By offering exciting and challenging opportunities we ensure that every child reaches their full potential towards a bright and successful future. Havelock is a well-established school, serving a diverse community in Southall, in the London Borough of Ealing. We work hard as a team to deliver the best possible education and outcomes for the children. As a UNICEF Rights Respecting School, we champion the rights of children to ensure that pupil's voice underpins life at our school. The school motto is Exceed to Succeed, which captures the high expectations of all stakeholders. We offer a broad and balanced curriculum where children are encouraged to be inquisitive, creative thinkers. By creating an exciting and challenging learning environment we ensure that every child reaches their full potential on their journey to a bright and successful future. At Havelock, we believe that children learn best if they feel valued, secure and part of a supportive community, so we have invested in systems that support this approach. Our vision is to enable pupils to thrive to be the best they can be within a calm and purposeful environment so that they make a successful transition to high school and leave as confident, thoughtful, and articulate learners. As a UNICEF Rights Respecting School, our values link to the United Nations Convention of the Rights of the Child. Every time we talk about values we encourage the children to link them to Children’s Rights. Each class has a Class Charter that highlights the UNICEF Articles that they feel are important to be a successful member of their class. The Charter also outlines the responsibilities of adults (known as ‘duty bearers’ ) to support children’s rights. As a UNICEF Rights Respecting School, we are passionate about children’s rights. Every child at Havelock has a vital role in upholding these rights and we encourage all our children to lead in this respect. Mrs. Rees and her staff have an open-door policy where we encourage pupils to tell us how they think we could improve things at the school. Each class also has a ‘worry box’ where they can write any concerns that they might have. At Havelock, we promote fundamental British Values through our ethos, the curriculum offer, spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development, and through our work as a UNICEF Rights Respecting School. We will actively challenge anyone in the school community to express opinions contrary to fundamental British Values. We reinforce and promote British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect, and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs. View full school
