The Harpeth Hall student is a young woman with limitless intellectual and personal potential who, like Nashville, is poised for exciting, transformative growth. The identity of Harpeth Hall is lived through the distinctiveness of its dynamic students. Here girls become women who choose to learn and grow, challenge and lead, first on our campus and then in the world. Our student is an independent thinker, a thoughtful risk-taker, a problem solver, a clarion voice, an authentic spirit, and an empathetic friend. She is Harpeth Hall's best traditions and the country's bright future. Our graduate is eager to take on the world — and is entirely prepared for a change. Over 150 years ago, our visionary founders boldly created a school, which provided an excellent education to girls and young women in Nashville, Tennessee. We remain bold and committed to carrying out that mission today, as we guide fifth through twelfth-grade girls to discover what it means to think critically, to lead confidently, and to live honorably at this particular time and place in history. As one alumna said, "Harpeth Hall is a place where girls matter - they matter." Girls are seen and heard and are encouraged to take healthy risks each day. In middle school, our girls stand on a firm foundation of skills in S.T.E.M., humanities, and visual and performing arts as they are encouraged to go beyond the curriculum with our S.E.E.K. program. In the upper school, our students explore a deeper understanding of the liberal arts curriculum and become proximate with the world around them through Winterim, International Exchange, Public Purpose, or Global Scholars. Harpeth Hall is an independent college preparatory school for young women. Each student realizes her highest intellectual ability in the sciences, the humanities, and the arts and discovers her creative and athletic talents. Harpeth Hall develops responsible citizens who have global perspectives and make meaningful contributions to their communities and the world.
